I plan on snagging a copy after work. Needless to say, it's going to be great to have a piece of my childhood on DVD. I can't wait to check it out in halfway decent digital quality.
FUN FACT for those who don't know: The idea for the interview with Milton Knight was suggested by none other than myself! ^^ Yeah, so maybe I'm bragging. I hope the interview turned out well for you, Brian.

I'm excited for it but waiting is the problem since usually this store dont get it on release date, which is fine anyways cause i wont get much watching till this weekend, which is when i'll return the dvd set.

I have a feeling it will do well as the Chaos Emerald saga would be on the last volume so people will buy and buy until they have the best 4 episodes in the series. Very strange like diehard AoSTH fans aren't getting excited over it (Climbing Gecko who owned Sonic Land), but with a million youtube poops of the show it might just sell better than Brian would think (maybe not SatAM level though). |

Thank you for releasing Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 1 on DVD and I am enjoying watching Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 1 on DVD and I am a huge fan of Sonic The Hedgehog. Is Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 1 on DVD selling well as Sonic The Hedgehog: The Complete Series? I can't wait for Volumes 2 and 3 of Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog to be released on DVD this year or 2008 that I will get to complete Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog on DVD in three volumes with 66 episodes.

I might get it tomorrow, i'll know tomorrow but i'm hoping i can. SatAM is holding me over till then.

For example I noticed two screen shots from The Little Merhog and two from the Chaos Emerald Saga (one has Blackbot the Pirate in the shot). Other than that the entire set is great. The video quality is better than I expected comparing it to when first released on the airwaves. I hope the sales of this set do well enough to get the next two volumes.

But i did grab the set, its great. I ran into it on Best Buy to exchange my Adventure of SMB 3.......extra copy  . I had it on order thought i might not find it, ended up finding it on the shelf just like i did for Sonic. I love it so far, even the Sonic Says is on the set. Lets just hope sales do well and we hear future news.

Glad to see that the Sonic Sez made it. Right for anyone that has the Psuedo Sonic episode (last one on the set), there is a scene where Pseudo Sonic replaces the light bulb with a grenade that was cut out. Is it on the set? A simple question from a fan. |

I haven't seen an episode of the show since it was dropped from Toon Disney's lineup. But it was sure nice seeing it again. I'm surprised the episodes do not contain the go-to and come-back-from commercial bumpers (like SMBSS and Heathcliff had on their DVDs). Oh well, I guess that part doesn't matter in this case. The extras are decent. The interview with Milton Knight was nice and I wonder why he gives no step-by-step instruction in "How to draw Sonic" segment. We just see him drawing Sonic. All in all, a great set! |

I ordered SMBSS Vol 1 off the internet and didn't get Vol 2 until it was released at Target in January(no idea why it took Target that long to get it. . .). Anyhoo I hope to pick this up soon, and I REALLY hope I can find it in the stores somewhere. Maybe Wal-Mart will have this Sonic as well? :P |

As for sales, they're doing well. I wouldn't be surprised if we picked up on Volume 2 sometime soon for release sometime next year. Can't say, for sure.
The Storyboard-to-Screen feature had to be removed, due to time and budgetary restraints.

Right now, we don't have a date planned for volumes 2 & 3 of Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog. We won't actually come up with a date for a while. Probably not for the next couple of months. We're working on some other stuff that's going to be really cool, including Sonic Underground, which will be three discs of episodes and bonus features and a fourth disc that's a CD soundtrack. Sonic Underground will be available on December 18, 2007. Until that's released, we won't really know anything about volumes 2 and 3 of Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog.

Squeezing 40 episodes onto three discs would result in very lackluster quality, because they would then have to be encoded at a very low bitrate to make it all fit. Doing that results in many visible compression artifacts.

Last Friday, the set's producer, Frank Mohler, and I shot interviews with the series' executive producer, Robby London--who, incidentally, also wrote the show's theme song anonymously--, and composer Mike Piccirillo. Those are being edited even as I type this and are looking really nice.
In addition, you'll find the standard DiC fare, in terms of some additional background concepts, original character and vehicle concept art, Storyboard-to-Screen: The Opening Titles Sequence, an option to play the music videos separately, and a four-panel booklet outlining the episodes.
The kicker will be the fourth disc, which is an eight-song soundtrack CD featuring Sonic Underground's Greatest Hits. These songs were handpicked and licensed to us by DiC for this set.
Hope those bonus features make this set of 20 episodes worth your while, SonicEmerald!

No big deal (by the way im new-I just signed up actually). That's too bad because I really dont care much for Sonic Underground...I just thought that show was bad. Im a Sonic fan....at least a fan of his old stuff since his recent games havent been up to snuff-and who owns the rights to Sonic X? Id like to see a release of that with the original Japanese voices down the line since I just think the 4Kids dub is terrible. Either way-I was SUPER excited for SatAM since that is my FAVORITE childhood show that I wish would be ressurected, and I also grew up on AoSTH waking up every morning before school to watch it. |

Yeah, assuming we decide to release the last two volumes of Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog, they won't hit stores until sometime next year.
As for Sonic X, they've already been released, though I'm not sure whether or not they included the Japanese language tracks. Worth checking out on Amazon, though.

I also bought the Anchor bay set a while ago, but was disappointed to find no extras. This set sounds better and better, I especially like the idea of the soundtrack disc and music video selection screen.

first of all its way too "looney toons" for me. It's not a bad thing but i just didnt like the similarites for some reason.
another thing is the use of artwork. the same Sonic and Tails and Robotnik are used throughout the dvd slipcases with different backgrounds...
I did enjoy EVERYTHING ELSE though :) Brian this set was awesome. |

It's something that would need to be approved by not only SEGA, but DiC and Shout! Factory-- which my be difficult since everyone tends to throw the familiar characters on the front cover. Member since: 4/9/2007 | | RE: Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Volume 1 Talkback | I dont know, B Ward has said that for a 2nd vol to be released for any show that a minumum of 15,000 copies has to be sold within a year more or less.......to date Shout has only been able to release one multi-volume cartoon and that was Super mario bros super show.....I mean a very good classic toon like COPS didnt even sell 15,000 copies in a year.....based on what Ward has said about sales for AoSTH vol so far i would personally highly doubt vol 2 will ever be released based on that, it could but i highly doubt it, I forsee AoSTH vol 1 as a "Shelf Warmer".
