Rhoda - Seasons 4 and 5

Since Rhoda Season Five lasted only a half-season, is Shout! Factory considering releasing it together with Season Four to complete the series (kind of like 20th Century Fox did with Remington Steele)?

Also, is Shout! Factory considering adding the Carlton Your Doorman pilot to Season Five as a bonus feature?

RE: Rhoda - Seasons 4 and 5
Looks like Season 4 was announced to be released in Sept as a Shout Factory Select title. Inhope they go ahead and get the 5th and final season a go ESP before the end of this year. I think there was a few eps that never were aired ? If so I hope they will make it on the DVD. Release. Also wondering if the season 4 set will continue to be in he same style DVD case as previous seasons.

I wish Shout would re-release season1 of Rhoda with complete remastered episodes including the unedited pilot with Mary Richards seeing Rhoda off on holiday in the pre titles sequences, not on the DVD set.

You know, since S5 is a half season, perhaps you'd be better off asking for the unedited S1 episodes to be released as a bonus on the S5 set, you know, to round out the set and make it more than two discs.

I just checked and Season 5 of Rhoda had 4 unaired episodes (plus the 9 that aired). I hope Shout will include the 4 unaired episodes if they release Season 5. I hope the owners of Rhoda even know where those episodes are. And I'd be curious - did these 4 unaired episodes ever make it into the syndicated episodes?

Yes, those final four episodes did air in syndication and I'm sure that they'll be a part of the Season 5 DVD, assuming there is one (fingers crossed!). BTW, will Season 4 be available at Amazon?

No,season4 DVD of Rhoda will be available from Shout directly but maybe sellers will eventually offer it on Amazon but it won't be,like earlier seasons available from Amazon, right away.

So pleased the seasons are coming out so quickly,we live in hope,Rhoda season1 will be reissued complete.

I know a lot of people wouldn't, But I would gladly re purchase Season ONE of RHODA to get the uncut episodes. I am also in for the final shorter season esp the originally unaired episodes that were only shown in syndication. I hope they can lock the full length of those episodes.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the Amazon Marketplace vendor will have Rhoda S4 the same time we do.

Brian, do you mean that Amazon/proper will sell it, or that only 3rd parties will sell it on amazon?

Hi Brian. I was wondering a few things about the following Rhoda DVD sets. Will season 4 be a DVD jewl case like CBS The Lucy Show Seasons or MPI's Here's Lucy DVDs or like Shout!s Leave it to Beaver seasons sets? And these episodes will be mastered to the same superior quality as Season 2 and 3 were? Plus, I was wondering if Season 5 does make it to DVD will you include some bonus'? I know in the past episodes lots of the funds went towards remastering but I thought that since the last year only has 13 episodes to be mastered the extra left over could be used for new bonus, maybe a interview, Carlton the Doorman cartoon, possibly even a rerealease of Mary and Rhoda? Thanks Brian PS Hopefully Shout will open a eBay store to make it cheaper for internationol orders. :P

He means 3rd parties.

Also, I got an e-mail today saying that my copy of Rhoda S4 shipped on 9/8. So, here's hoping the mailman comes with a nice package from Shout tomorrow.

Shout! Factory Select DVDs are packaged in multi-disc viva cases.  It's a standard DVD amaray that allows as many as six discs to be encased.  This is how Rhoda S4 and S5 will be made available.

We don't have an official Amazon or eBay store.  However, we do have a single authorized seller on Amazon and eBay who sells the Shout! Factory Select titles to people uncomfortable with buying directly from our website.  The seller charges the same price we do.  Basically, having this dealer on Amazon allows people who are doing searches find the set without having to have prior knowledge that it's an internet exclusive.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, what exactly is up with the Rhoda shipping date?

The main page of Shout Select has always said the set was being released on 9/21, but reading about the free shipping sale said that if you order Rhoda 24 as part of the sale, the discs will be shipped on or around 9/10.

So, I finally picked up Mr. Belvedere s4 along with Rhoda to qualify for free shipping, to help that show get another release, and figured that it would get me Rhoda a couple weeks early.

So, which date was correct?

Season 4 looks amazing!  Thank you, Brian!  I can't tell you how much I appreciate Shout treating this show with the respect it deserves.  It's a true classic.  Can't wait for "Phyllis"!  (and can't wait for Season 5 of "Rhoda" too!)

Are the episodes on Rhoda Volume 1 gonna be the ones listed on the website?

RE: Rhoda - Seasons 4 and 5
Volume 1 is merely a single-disc release.  It's just a handful of episodes from S2.  This is because certain retailers specifically want cheap, impulse buys for their customers.  So we basically take, say, disc 1 out of the S2 box set and provide it for them to sell to those casual customers for $9.99 or whatever.  S4, on the other hand, is a complete season, which retailers aren't wanting too many of right now, due to shelf space and the cost of the products.  The fact that it's the fourth season also doesn't help our cause, as retailers know and expect sales to decline with each volume.  So they've decided against ordering copies of this set, thus making it a Shout! Factory Select title for us.

Hope that helps!

You could have also had the volume 1 DVD include episodes from Season 4 for people too, or even have a remastered DVD version, which would have the wedding special on it :P. Just suggestions that prolly suck and that noone cares about :P

RE: Rhoda - Seasons 4 and 5
The idea is that retailers want something quick and easy.  Nothing's quicker or easier than taking a disc that's already been authored and selling it separately.  Certain episodes, like the wedding episode, require music clearances.  While we have them cleared for the box set, we don't have them cleared for additional "releases."

A lot goes into these plans.
