M.A.S.K. and Jem movies in the works

http://www.pajiba.com/trade_news/exclusive-hasbro-developing-its-own-version-of-the-avengers-night-at-the-museum-meets-toy-story.php

Obviously, this increases the chances of their old tv series getting on DVD by Shout! or a different company.  I'm a big M.A.S.K. fan, so it is cool that it is getting a movie.

While movie and t.v. rights don't always go hand in hand, I really hope the news about a M.A.S.K. movie means the issues that have prevented a North American home video are being resolved soon (if not already).

I basically signed up here so I could add my voice to the list of "people wanting M.A.S.K. the series on dvd."  Been wanting this, but I hate to buy those overseas bootlegs or whatever.

It's funny that you mention that. He-Man, Voltron & Thundercats all have movies in the works. Robotech as well.

Voltron: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472429/
He-Man: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427340/
Thundercats: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1047015/
Robotech: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1103173/

They aren't bootlegs, they're legitimate releases. You just need a DVD player that will play PAL video to watch them.

With these movies in development and new tv series for Thundercats, Pound Puppies, G.I. Joe, and Transformers coming up, there seems to be another nostalgia run for 80s cartoon shows again.

If things fall into place quick, sometime in 2012 is possible.  Summer 2013 may be more likely, the 2012 summer movie season is already stocked with some "big" films that'll be competing for the same audience.

Sounds promising.  I know I'll definitely check both of those out, hope the quality is on par with the 2002 He-Man revival series.  I have to question the "being timed for the 25th Anniversaries" thing, though.  2009 was the 25th Anniversary of Voltron (it debuted in 1984), and 2010 is the 25th Anniversary of Thundercats (1985).  Oh well, at least they're sorta close....

Actually TV Shows made into Live action movies Suck! They Ruin them by making them PG13 or Rated R. They always add Adult subject matter Drug Use Or profanity  plus that Damn Matrix effect in every movie or TV show made I'm talking about the characters freeze Then pan around for a couple of seconds then the characters move. I can't picture Characters from M.A.S.K. Thundercats, He-Man or Voltron Swearing! Hollywood Leave the dang TV Shows alone!
