Sadly "Virgil Films and Entertainment" no longer has plans to release the less syndicated 'Fourth Season' of "The Donna Reed Show" since for some unknown reason their relationship has ended with the Donna Reed and Tony Owen Estate! Please Shout! Factory, help us Fans Out regarding this 'Fun Show,' so we will be able to obtain further seasons of this Very Popular TV Series!!!!! Donna Reed's Children own the 'Trust Rights' to the First Five Seasons of their Mother's Show. And people have been waiting for years to see these missing 39 Episodes from this less syndicated 'Fourth Season' of "The Donna Reed Show." I have observed this particular 'Fourth Season' being discussed throughout the Internet. Please do help us in our efforts to obtain it!!!!! And also we need the 'Fifth Season' of this TV Series as well!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
P. S. We would also appreciate 'VERY MUCH' the final seasons regarding "The Donna Reed Show" if you can acquire them, which are Seasons 6 through 8. Thanks!!!!! |

I feel so totally ripped off because here we were told by Virgil Films many months ago that they were hard at work on Season Four of Donna Reed's TV Show. But then at the beginning of March were told they lost the Rights to this Series! What goes here??? If they were so hard at work on this Season Four which they claimed to be 6 Months Ago then why didn't they complete this project by now, and if they did complete it, does all their work on this particular Season Four go to complete waste? Something seems fishy here... I have tracked the sells of The Donna Reed Show on Amazon.com and it has always appeared to be selling Very Very Well!!! So it certainly can't be scraped for Lack Of Sales!
In any event, Please Shout! Factory we need more releases of this Tremendously Entertaining Series!!! And Season Four is one special season so many people have been incredibly anxious to see...

By all means get this series for us! I love Donna Reed and her show! I was also looking so forward to Season 4. Why doesn't Virgil still have the rights to this show anymore???? This is my favorite show of all time!
Shout! Factory- I hope you will listen and get this show for us! I want (The Donna Reed Show) so Very Badly. All the previous seasons had A1 Stories with excellent cast members that included very good actors young and old in the supporting roles, and great guest stars too!!

It would be a natural match because Shout!, by this time, has a well-deserved reputation for restoring television episodes to the best condition possible. Please look into preserving the remaining episodes of both THE DONNA REED SHOW and HAZEL, which are both in limbo. The audience for both shows is pretty astronomical, particularly DONNA REED. It's one of very few shows that cross the age demographic, as the fanbase encompasses twentysomethings to eightysomethings. Please save these TV masterpieces for future generations! |

"Donna" is (along with "Bewitched") my favorite DVD series for casual viewing. I bought all the prior seasons and looked forward to 4, which as a bonus features Shelley Fabares singing her hit "Johnny Angel" (I believe)!
I would definitely support seasons 4 and 5 (until Shelley leaves the show for college). I'm not so keen on the latter "Trisha" years (season 6 on).
Please Brian, help us all out! I need my daily Donna fix! This show is so reassuring, engaging and well crafted. |

There were some great stories with the neighbors as well as some super excellent episodes when Shelley Fabares Guest Starred in the 6th & 7th Season. The confrontation she had with the character Jeff in a sixth season episode which was called "Mary Comes Home" was something you never saw between brother and sister in seasons 1 thru 5. It was quite dramatic!!!! We would also just love to see seasons 4 thru 5 because these were fantastic years too- when Jeff and Mary were growing up and coming of age! I would really be grateful to know from Shout! Factory, is there truly any chance that you could release The Donna Reed Show with some- More Seasons- or is it totally out of the realm of possibility? Please do let us know! Me and my friends ,Love This Show, to the highest degree possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I was so sure the rest of the series would be released (knowing her estate was involved in the DVDs, I just assumed...) Donna's daughter will be on TCM introducing some of her movies later this month (Donna's Star of the Month on that channel and hopefully a lot of viewers will be introduced to her/become fans) so it would've been a great time for more DVDs! (For that matter, Warner should release more of the Donna Reed movies they own.)

This is such a classic show, and it deserves to be enjoyed by us, as well as, future generations. Shout you did a great job with "Father Knows Best", I'm depending on you to do the same with this show. There has got to be some way for the children of Miss Reed and Mr. Owen to be able to help make these great shows available to us. It was their Mother's show, so they should be able to have a say so. I have no doubt they'd like them available for viewing themselves.

Shout didn't remaster Patty Duke. That was done by MGM and given to Shout that way. |

While we don't have to spend nearly as many as a typical studio to make a profit, we still need the product to be a seller by our standards. So we weigh the number of sales the previous releases have had against the cost of the show. If it's a worthwhile risk, we approach those studios. If not, we don't.
Not sure about The Donna Reed Show's sales. Not sure whether or not our acquisitions gang is interested. But I was thrilled to put one episode onto our Merry Sitcom release, mostly due to my obsession with the late, great Buster Keaton.

You're obviously a very jealous person because you have no information to offer concerning The Donna Reed Show, and you have no contacts with Donna Reed's Children. You are definitely the unimportant 'Goofball' and a very negative troublemaker! I for one am looking forward to the release of the Fourth Season from The Donna Reed Show! I don't care who releases it, just as long as it is released! Let Donna Reed's family worry about the money issue, it should be no true concern of yours... Donna Reed's Children own the rights to seasons 4 and 5 of The Donna Reed Show, and it is totally up to them to decide how they will release this excellent television series!
What Shout! Factory should be concentrating on right now are seasons 6, 7, and 8 from The Donna Reed Show TV Series. Sony Pictures owns these three remaining seasons. This release date came from Mary Owen, and she ought to know since she had to deal with MPI directly. "TV Shows On DVD" and "Amazon.com" have a December 20th release date, but they had gotten their info from retailers who were being prospectively sought out to sell the DVDs. December 13, 2011 is the official release date given out by Mary Owen last evening!
We are all very excited on the "We Love The Donna Reed Show" page, which is on Facebook. 
The List Price for this product is: $39.98, but you can 'Pre-order' it at Amazon.com right now for the cost of $27.99
