L.A. Law: Perfect for the Shout Factory!

L.A. Law may be the best series ever to be ignored for DVD release!  It was a highly sucessful top-rated show, which ran for 8 seasons (1986 - 1994).  And it was in the Top 30 shows for its first 6 seasons.  It won numerous awards including Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series in 1987, 1989, 1990, and 1991.  It had stars who are still recognizable today, including Corbin Bernson, Jimmy Smits, Alan Rachins, Dann Florek, Blair Underwood, Michael Tucker, and Susan Ruttan.  And there doesn't seem to be any music or copyright issues either.

So, with so many things going for it, why hasn't it been released to DVD???  In the words of a poster on another site:

1. It's Fox.

2. It's pre-1990's.

All of the studios worship at the altar of the 18-34 year old demographic, but Fox is the WORST!  All they look at is the numbers.  And if they aren't HUGE, they won't release.

Fortunately, the Shout Factory has been saving many fine old series from oblivion....shows ignored by the major studios that don't appeal to the Zit Crowd like Buffy, Angel, Charmed, and Friends.

Well, it seems that "L.A. Law" would be a perfect choice!  So, PLEASE Shout Factory, look into obtaining the rights from Fox to produce the DVDs.  I would think it wouldn't be a problem, as it appears very unlikely that Fox will ever release it.
