Small Wonder
Who remembers Small Wonder, the sitcom about a robotics engineer who invents a domestic aid robot that looks just like a little girl and brings her home to live with his family? A lot of people think Small Wonder was just a ridiculous 80s show that never should have lasted beyond the pilot episode, but to this day it still has its share of fans. You can count me among them. Shout! Factory would be the perfect candidate to release this classic to DVD (with complete and unedited episodes). While us SM fans would definitely prefer full season sets, I wouldn't mind it if a Best Of set was released first to "test the water." Definitely be a step above watching SM episodes on YouTube with poor video and sound quality. Thanks for your consideration.

Very strange show.  I do remember it very well as a kid, but I didn't watch it very often.  It just seemed quite bizarre to me.  However, in support of your case, I would definitely purchase it if it were released on DVD.  Youtube sorta got me re-interested.  Haahaa.

RE: Small Wonder
What an awesome show! Small Wonder has not been aired in local syndication here in the United States for about ten or eleven years now. I'd love to see you release it with a "Best of Set" to see how that sells, and then release full season sets. That's exactly how Warner Home Video did with Welcome Back, Kotter. First a television favorites single disc and then a complete first season set. Maybe Universal should have done the same thing instead of releasing the first seasons of Kate & Allie, Charles in Charge and Gimme a Break. It seems the first seasons of those three shows bombed.. Though I am pretty sure that 20th Century Fox owns the home entertainment rights to Small Wonder.

Fox does own the rights. They seem to be pretty good about licensing their shows to other companies for DVD release (like how they licensed Doogie Howser MD to Anchor Bay). I don't know how the current powers-that-be at Fox feel about Small Wonder, but it seems kind of doubtful that Fox would release it themselves. That's why I'm hoping they don't get stubborn and refuse to allow another company to do it.

You know VEI (Canada) seems to have great sales for K&A and GAB.. They released the 2nd season of GAB last January.. They seem to be really doing good with K&A sets.. Maybe they should have added CIC to their library. Yes, they are all Region 1 DVDs and will play fine in your DVD player. You can order them off of Amazon.ca and they can be shipped anywhere in the USA.

I agree - Small Wonder is an institution and is almost cult status around the net. It is also in www.tvshowsondvd.com's Top 50 Unreleased shows on dvd (it's no 47). Considering the 100s of thousands of shows out there since day dot, that's pretty good going.

Even though Small Wonder ranks highly on my "must be released" list, I would be happy with a Best Of set too. I only say this because it did run for 4 seasons, and I'm not sure how demand would fair after the first couple of sets are released. However, volume sets with 5 or 6 episodes on each would be just the ticket. I seriously think it would be a big seller for Shout!

I voted for Small Wonder on tvshowsondvd.com. It's good to see it within the Top 50. I hope the studios are paying attention.

Small Wonder needs to air on cable... TV Land should acquire it and see how a 48-hour Fandemonium Marathon would be... I bet it would get guaranteed ratings!

You know, that would be pretty awesome. They can show the entire series run (96 half-hour episodes) in 48 hours.
