I'm also a huge fan of the series, and am happy to buy it in whatever way they choose to release it. I'm gonna guess we'll see volume releases though. Seems to be the format for all current toons, such as Wolverine and the X-Men and Batman: Brave and the Bold. Good to hear from the press release that there will be extras. That's been a huge letdown in the case of the Batman: Brave and the Bold DVD releases. Here's hoping for at least audio commentaries and voice actor featurettes.

I'm looking forward to diving in, too. We had a really great meeting with the gang from Marvel yesterday and I have ideas a'burstin'! Note: There's only so much room on these sets, but I will certainly make the best of it I possibly can.
Enjoy!

Good to hear. Thanks Brian
Maybe you could even partner with Hasbro for Super Hero Squad toy pack-ins or something. :D
There was a bunch of canceled 4-Packs for the toy line last year. Would be nice to get them somehow.

Or maybe a 10-Pack with the 6 mentioned, plus Captain America, Ms. Marvel, and Reptil, and Dr. Doom (with Infinity Sword).
Of if you just want two figures only, how about Iron Man and Dr. Doom with Infinity Sword? |

Joe, require substantial lead time to work on toys, so we wouldn't be able to have these done in time to box with the DVDs.

Doomy Bear!
Not only would it be a cool thing to have, it's also a fun way to demonstrate the cheerfully irreverant attitude of the show.

The Super Hero Squad Show - Date and Cost for Shout!'s 'Quest For The Infinity Sword, Volume 1' DVD.
Single-disc release is coming out in mid-July
A bit over a month ago a press release announced that Shout! Factory had struck a deal with Marvel to release The Super Hero Squad Show on DVD. No details were available at the time, however, as to date or cost. Today, though, Amazon added a pre-order listing for the July 13th release of The Super Hero Squad Show - Quest For The Infinity Sword, Volume 1. Cost shown for this single-disc, 300-minute release (per Amazon; running time may not be accurate) is $14.97 SRP, and you can lock in your copy for a discount. Bonus material will be included, per Shout!, but hasn't been finalized yet. Stay tuned for that, cover art, and further details as soon as these are available!

Unless your telling us that volums are the only way we'll get SHS I'll just wait. I know there are plenty of people that will buy the volumes, heck I had folks at my store buy the volumes for Avatar TLA and still bought season sets. I love SHS and the fact that Shout is doing the dvd just makes my day. Thank you guys so much can't wait to see what other great stuff comes out. |

Surely those can't all be 6-9 year olds, especially since the last topic was naming your favorite Super Nintendo game.

But I can say that I'm not working on a complete season set right now and have no plans of working on one. In our talks with Marvel, it's been agreed that single volumes is the way to go on this title.

Member since: 4/3/2010 | | RE: The Super Hero Squad Show | Mr. Ward,
Thank you so much. I take back EVERY reservation I had about this dvd set. I just got it today and have watched through at least three times ( twice with the nephew and once after he went to bed) the screams of "HERO UP!!" have been ringing through my brothers house. Every one was laughing at the show and loved the dvd. It was a great idea to put 7 episodes on a volume set and I think it's a great price point for the content we got. I can not wait for volume 2 and if you ever do a season set down the road that's no problem I'm sure I can think of a few Squadies that would love to get my volumes while I pick up the box set. As for your question about people outside of the age range likeing the show I can tell you from my own house there is a pair of older adults (Mom and Dad in their 50's) My brother ( late 30's) and his kids (Boy just turned 7 today, girl 4, and baby girl who smiles a lot but I'm not sure understood what was going on. . . we'll work on her.) Along with my self (29 next saturday) all of us where loveing the show. Mom and Dad saw jokes that made referances to comics they red as kids, me and my brother where laughing and more current jokes and the kids loved the slap stick. We all agreed it was the first show in a while that the whole family young and old could really get into. There was a lot of comparisons made in the house between SHS and Tiny Toons and Animaniacs. So trust me when I say this show is in very high regard in my household
Thank you
Uncle DekaPrime

Member since: 1/12/2007 | | RE: The Super Hero Squad Show | Thedude7, you're preaching to the choir. Unfortunately, it was determined by the powers that be, both here and at Marvel, that the discs would be released as single discs. Primarily because of the intended age group of the audience of the show. Single discs are better for parents. I think there are collector fans out there. I'm one of the few.

Member since: 8/11/2010 | | RE: The Super Hero Squad Show | As a parent, that rationale makes no sense to me. I'd much rather have a full season than be asked to buy 5 different single disc releases. Both a space and a cost issue, plus often less changing of discs and you don't run out of episodes so quickly.

What I cant quite factor is...How is Target able to release something Months ahead of any other retailer Including Shout!Factory itself?? (Case in Point)
I bought the 1st half of the 2nd Season (Infinity Gauntlett Volumes 1&2 together) back in August, but volume 2 wasn't avialable anywhere else seperately until November. I'm surprised Target isn't advertising the heck out of these DVD's. Looking forward again to completing the series in April 2012, (via Target) while everyone else waits until probably August.
