Sharkadelic & friends,
I whole-heartedly agree!!!! I loved this show!!! I have read elsewhere that it's release may be getting held up by one or more of the following:
A. Michael Richards. They need his okay to release them and he may be stalling for more money. Apparently the success he found with "Seinfeld" went to his fuzzy head. Let's be honest, if they cut him from each episode, they'd be cutting half of the material. His "Battle-boy" is one of the great sketch characters of all time, and with all the ensemble sketches they had over the length of the show (who can forget the Ronnie Reagan Picture Show, and Diner of the Living Dead... okay, I missed the latter, but I heard about it afterward. DAMN!!!!), if they were to edit him out completely, they really wouldn't have a release.
B. Music rights. They had a LOT of musical guests over their three seasons, at least one per show as I recall, maybe more. I remember watching one night and seeing a group I'd never heard of before, "Huey Lewis and the News". Getting music rights can hold up a release for a long time!!! We may never see "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" in it's original theatrical form on home vid, and look how long it took them to get "Heavy Metal" out there.
So, Shout... if you can get this out, preferably in a full series (3 seasons) box set, I'm THERE!!!! CKB. |
