I only ever owned one Zelda VHS tape that had one such segment with Ernie Hudson. I guess these "movie stars of the day" were a big deal for this little show back then and their cost to use the footage now is most likely high. Did anyone ever pick up on the Cartoon Super Mario Bros Face that got superimposed during a few episodes. It was covering up an actors face for i guess licensing reasons. |

It's more to the point that the paperwork for that talent, their original sign-offs, was lost over the years. DiC would not allow us to proceed without it. And now that we've completed the series, there's no reason to revisit it, even though Cookie Jar is owner of that material now. I will say, however, that Cookie Jar has been similar to DiC in those respects so far in our relationship, so there's no reason to believe the answer would be different today.

I remember using footage of it in the interview with Captain Lou.

The one that was released on dvd was "Do You Believe in Magic?" on the Super Mario Bros Super Show Vol. 1 dvd set and the one that wasn't released on dvd was "Magic's Magic" which would have been on the Zelda dvd set. Norman Fell guest starred in 2 live action segments. The one that was released on dvd was "Fred Van Winkle" on the Zelda dvd set and the one that wasn't released on dvd was "Texas Tea" which would have been on the Super Mario Bros Super Show Vol. 2 dvd set. Inspector Gadget played by Maurice LaMarche guest starred in 2 live action segments. The one that was released on dvd was "Defective Gadgetry" on the Zelda dvd set and the one that wasn't released on dvd was "Treasure of the Sierra Brooklyn" which would have also been on the Zelda dvd set. |

I remember there was an episode live action segment that I think was spoofing Crocodile Dundee. I think the actor was a look a like to Paul Hogan and later in the episode they held up a picture of what I can assume was actor Paul Hogan, but on the DVD there was a floating Mario face over it. The same happened in a much later episode where this "thing" poked its head from out of the sewer, but you couldn't tell what it was because of the Mario head. Not sure if that was a live action cameo or a muppet cameo. It seems like i'm obsessed over the "floating mario face" ;-) |
