Member since: 2/22/2007 | | DIC G.I. Joe | With all this talk about the Japanese Transformers series, any chance we'll see the DIC G.I. Joe series released sometime in the near future? It has never been released on DVD before and features the Operation Dragonfire miniseries that is a continuation of the movie. No dubbing or subtitles to worry about with this release either.  |

Does "Operation Dragonfire" have the original opening sequence (with the same intro song as the Marvel/Sunbow series, with slightly altered lyrics), or does it have the "Got to Get Tough" opening? I am hoping for the original as I never knew about it until seeing it on youtube recently.

Sgt. Savage & His Screaming Eagles (one shot episode that was packaged on VHS with select Sgt. Savage figures).
G.I.Joe Extreme (2 seasons, 26 episodes)
G.I.Joe Sigma Six (2 seasons, 26 episodes - never fully aired all episodes in the US).

I've never seen the DiC version before and how they hell could they make a G.I. Joe show with so few know faces (Destro, Baroness, Slaughter, Cobra Commander, G. Hawk, Lady J) this comes nowhere near as good as the original series in my mind. I need Snake Eyes, StormShadow, Quick Kick, Alpine, Shipwreck, Zartan and Dreadknocks etc
As for other G.I. Joe series i'll buy every single one (inc season 2 of the show i just sad was disapointing) since i want ALL G.I. Joe .
Never seen Extreme either and only seen some Sigma 6 but i would want both of them just as much as i want Renegades. |

The good news for you is that season 2 (The last 20 episodes) at least you get Snake Eye's & Storm Shadow back (even though these episodes are even worse than the 1st season). It is the very thin line of continuity from the original series that compels me to purchase these.
I've never watched any of the other incarnations of GI:Joe (except for the Resolute micro-series which I thought was great btw... But to any of the others have any links to the orignal series, or are they all pretty much independent moving forward?
In any case, cant wait for series 2 season 2 to finish things off. Oh and on a final note. I am so glad DIC did nto get their grubby hands on Transformers. I shudder to think what they would have done.
