Roger Corman question for B Ward
Hey B Ward, I noticed that Shout is going to release a whole slew of Roger Corman movies from the 70's and 80's. I was wondering if that means Corman produced titles like Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell would be available to use for upcoming MST box sets?

I knew this question would show up here, and I assumed that would be the answer.  I think what it boils down to is Corman's dislike of the MST3k treatment, and Corman isn't hurting for money (I assume) like some of the other independent rights holders.  Lets just all keep our fingers crossed...  tightly...

What unreleased MSTied movies would Shout Factory have to go to Mr. Corman for the rights to?  Just curious.

Possibly Teenage Caveman, Viking Women And the Sea Serpent..., It Conquered The World, etc. In other words, some really great episodes. What I don't understand is that certain Corman film episodes of MST3K have been released, such as Swamp Diamonds, while others seem to be unobtainable. Why are some so much easier than others? Does Corman not retain the rights to the ones that were already released, so we go lucky on those? Unfortunately, the best ones like the three I mentioned at top here are still unreleased.

No..all the Corman AIP movies are split between The Arkoff Estate and Lionsgate. The ones that Lionsgate owns were released on DVD already ( Teenage Caveman, Viking Women, etc)  while the Arkoff Estate (Susan Hart) still keeps their titles in their vault. I dont know how much input Corman has at this point...

Interesting info on rights. However, regarding Teenage Caveman, Viking Women, It Conquered The World, these MST3K episodes have never, ever been released on commercial DVD, not by Rhino and not by Shout! They have never been available on commercial release, but I wish they were.

I noticed on DVD Drive-In that you guys are also releasing Time Walker on DVD; a title most MSTies recognized as episode 405: Being from Another Planet. Can we assume that you guys are going the Gamera route on this one and not put it on a future MST box set?

So its fair to say Season 3 except for Castle of Fu Manchu is unlikely as is Time Walker..from Season 4..
What about Marooned aka Space Travelers
Is there anything from Season 3 you are looking into ? Or is it all out of reach ?

I dunno about any of Season 3's Corman material, but I'd like to get a copy of 'The Undead' episode from Season 8.

What about the Master Ninja eps?
