The set came perfect timing yesterday - I was just wondering what to watch.

The fourth season is when Mr. Belvedere really took off in my opinion.  The fifth season was equally as good.  And I really can't wait to see the sixth season, since I never got to see a bunch of those episodes.  They never even ran in syndication in my town.

Thank you Shout Factory for putting season four out on your own!  I'm already waiting to buy the next two...

If we REALLY want to see Season 5 get released, we really need to promote Season 4. Please hit EVERY Mr. Belvedere, 80's, etc.. sites you know.

It would be a good idea to say something like "Season 4 is ONLY available online, the set is NOT in stores."

Maybe we can say it's a collectors item or rare? Anything to get fans to buy.

I think we can go as far as to say "If season 4 doesn't sell well, we probably won't get to see season 5, so don't wait! ". ;)

It was a good game, though I didn't watch all of it.  I must say I was routing for the Jets, although I knew the Colts would win.  I'm not really much into football anyway.

I think I'll go watch some more Mr Belvedere now.  When I finish the set I will have Belvedere withdrawls again .

 Zaxxar I am watching the episodes in order, so once I get to The Trip I'll let you know.

I finished the set tonight.  I probably could have watched it all in one sitting if I had the time lol.  As with the last sets, it was kind of sad once I finished the last episode.  Now though, I can re watch my favorite episodes (and there were a lot this season).  This was perhaps the best season yet, the show reaching its high point IMO.  What did everyone else think?  What were your favorite episodes on the set?

TVFan I watched it in like 4 days I do agree this was the best season.

Now that I've finished the set, I'd like to comment on some things.  First of all, a very big thanks to Shout! Factory for not letting us fans down and continuing to bring us this great show.  Secondly, there are some technical glitches which Shout should be aware of.  On disc one there are one or two episodes where if you play the promo, after the promo is over it doesn't go back to the main menu.  It goes onto the next episodes promo.  This also happens on every episode of disc three.  On disc two, the episode "Commentary" the last few seconds of the end credits aren't there.  It seems like they may be there but my DVD player makes a sound & goes to the main menu like the episode is over.  On disc three several people on sitcomsonline reported that after the episode plays the screen truns blue instead of going back to the main menu.  On my set this doesn't happen. What does happen is that just like the promos, the next episode plays, even when "play all" is not selected.  Also, on the main menu the episode "The Counselor" is misspelled.  These are not major issues and the episodes themselves look and play fine. 

I think season three is the best season so far.  Almost all of the episodes are hilarious.  I don't know what's funnier-the Mr Belvedere puppet, or Mr Belvedere wearing a wig singing along to Wagner. My favorite episode is "The Fall Guy".  As usual we have a few guest stars.  Bob Goulet appears yet again.  Also Elizabeth Kerr (Grandma from Mork & Mindy) and Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson) appear, amongst others. 

I hope Shout! brings us season five soon.  Hopefully some of the cast/crew can participate in some extras.

Here's a crazy flashback. I just watched the two-parter The Trip. Do you know the scene where Mr. Sparks comments about rolling 7-11's and Angela leans over to say something, but then it fades to another scene? You just know there was a joke about a 7-11 store there.

Well, I remember watching the episode when it originally ran and rewinding the VCR tape to re-watch that. It was also left out of the original run too and I was fascinated with TV editing back then (how they made the episodes all fit into the show's 30-minute timeslot each week). Funny how that caught my attention again. A major part of my job is now editing (for radio, not TV), so my little obsession there has paid off I guess.

Anyways, what a great episode The Trip was. Most of season 4 is that way.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again - thank you Shout! Factory for doing a perfect job on these episodes! In addition to releasing them, thank you for putting the full episodes uncut on these DVDs. I only wish the company that released 3rd Rock From The Sun did the same for the first two seasons of that show.

I'll be buying seasons 5 & 6 of Mr. Belvedere the day they're released.

And the full series of The Charmings too (hint hint - lol - just kidding, I'm just happy this series is one I can now own).
