Love on a rooftop
Shout just seems to be leading us on with Love on a rooftop being released on dvd.  Truly disappointed.  Shout factory sounds like a fading wimper to me when it comes to this release.  Big, gigantic disappointment with shout.  Do they care?

wait i am confused. Is this a show you want on dvd? Or do you want to make love on a rooftop with shoutfactory? Cause thats probably impossible.

Did Shout say they were planning on releasing this series? I know it has quite a fan following amongst tv enthusiasts and Pete Deuel fans. I'd love to see the show on dvd, restored for the first time in decades. Would be a great set to own. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

One of my most favorite sitcoms! Very funny, great writing and great acting! I couldn't believe it got cancelled even considering it did better in the ratings than That Girl. Wish it would come to DVD!!!

RE: Love on a rooftop

The top 3 one-season sitcoms of the 60s would be Love on a Rooftop, He and She and Occasional Wife. He and She ran on USA so we had a chance to tape it and OW ran on HA! Rooftop has never re-aired in the taping era so that would put it at the top of the list. Now that Shout is licensing from Sony it would be nice. But it would require work as I doubt Sony has any tape elements for this show.

I would buy this set without having seen a single episode. I've heard it is a lot like other shows from the 60's like Gidget and That Girl but even better. Would love to see this released. Any chance Shout would do it? I know Peter Duel has quite a following out there. He even has a fan club site.

The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles is having a Paleyfest Rewind Classic TV Festival this summer, and included will be a special screening of 2 episodes of Love on a Rooftop on June 20th at 12:30pm.  It's free to the general public, but reservations are required.  They will be showing new digital prints from the Sony Archive.  I hope all Love on a Rooftop fans will show their interest in a future DVD release by attending and/or sending a message of support!

I've been wondering about this since I first read the announcement. Why would Sony have new digital prints made if they didn't intend on releasing it on dvd? I have a feeling this will be out on dvd in the near future. Fans have been asking for it for a long time and Pete Duel still has quite a loyal following. I wish I could make the screening but it's too far for me. Hopefully, there will be some news about a dvd release. I would definitely pick up a copy.

Is Sony actually digitizing their library? Wow, if that's true, then that's good news. Maybe they will be doing something with these shows, maybe a burn on demand thing or something.

We can hope. It would seem pointless to digitize for nothing.

I'm encouraged that films exist to digitize.  I hope there's a good turnout at the Paley Center and Sony decides to finally release the series on DVD.  It was such a good show.  I'm sure a lot of people would agree, if they only get the chance to see it.
