Member since: 11/1/2009 | | BARETTA - w/ Sammy Davis Jr. theme | Only the 1st season of "Baretta" (Starring Robert Blake) was released and it didn't feature the excellent theme song "Eye on the Sparrow" by Sammy Davis Jr. Since to me that song is so integrel to the series, I did not buy that. I was wondering if Shout could released the remaing seasons with this theme, I would even buy the 1st season if it had this theme. I used to love this show and remember dressing as Baretta one Halloween as a kid.  |

I had a crush on the Baretta character when I was in junior high...although I'm trying to figure out how WizardGlick dressed up as him for Halloween--did he rent a cockatoo? |

"Baretta" certainly holds the record for the longest stalled TV title on DVD, coming up on EIGHT years now. But I have a feeling that Robert Blake's sordid trial (which was the reason why Universal released S1 in the first place) has made that show more of a property no one would want to touch now. |

Simpson can't come out either. Whether or not the theme version is the vocal one does not play a part for me, it's still a good show so I bought it. It would be great if SF! picked up the rest or maybe started off with the show's inspiration Toma (1973), and see how that goes first.

Baretta was a great show and it really deserves to see a full DVD release of the rest of the series.
