Disney is the most ruthless, heartless, mean spirited company that anyone could ever get involved with. Once they have you they own your mind, body, and soul along with your past, present, and future. |

The scene featuring "I Tell it Like it Used to Be" didn't go on for several minutes. But the scene featuring "The Storms of Life" did. So in my opinion, the three suspects are Los Lobos, Randy Travis, and Lynyrd Skynrd. |

Member since: 6/5/2009 | | RE: Los Lobos is prime suspect in blocked Werewolf dvd | I have some inside scoop on this guys. It was not any of the bands. It was actually BRAIN Ward himself. Here is an exclsusive transcription of a secret recording i made of a shoutfactory board meeting between brain and the owner of the company, PT Shoutfactory.
BRAIN: I dont know, should we even put Werewolf out?
PT SHOUTFACTORY: The fans demand it Brain. Why would we not?
BRAIN: i just think they have gotten enough out of us. Lets go for some sure money makers that will keep me in fine corinthian leather and cigars. I have grown to love the expensive things in life and i dont want to risk it with wherewolfs.
PT SHOUTFACTORY: Brain, your hunger for power scares me. You're going to a place i cannot follow!
BRAIN: Shut it PT! You stay in line or its over for you now? Your empire is rotting. Now is the time of BRAIN WARD! Once i stop Werewolf from coming out with a phony line about "music" (LAUGHS MANIACALLY), then my transisition to power will be complete.
PT SHOUTFACTORY: what about our fans BRAIN? the ones you call the BRAIN-BABIES?
BRAIN: screw the BRAIN-BABIES. I am done cradling them. Now excuse me, my personal chef has prepared a 7 course meal for me, each course made of the youngling of some animal.
PT SHOUTFACTORY (shakes his head): Oh Brain. What haste become of thee. ooh the pain! the pain of it all.
"Don't touch me there, BRIAN WARD! Touch me HERE!" |

Member since: 10/18/2009 | | RE: Los Lobos is prime suspect in blocked Werewolf dvd | | zaxxar, That's a good question. I hope I can answer with this example. There seems to be a double standard between tv airings and dvd releases. Example: The Munsters First Season dvd had three changes I can point out. The Standells' Just A Little Bit was substituted with lousy strummy music. Strains of Someday My Prince Will Come was changed to something else. The Music Herman danced to at the dance school was not the music originally used. Yet when the episodes air on TV all the original music is intact. I can't explain why, but I hate it as much as anyone else does. |

I don't know the specifics but there are several shows on DVD that have music substitued but when they air on TV the original music is still used. One example I can think of is Married With Children. The reruns still air with the original theme song, yet it's replaced on DVD.
Please bring "Starman" the 1986-87 tv series to DVD.

I bought all 5 seasons of The Incredible Hulk Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. And i got to tell you Not one music piece has been removed or replaced no prevention of a single episode or season. Not this good stuff. The Incredible Hulk has every music track in all seasons and all episodes. And also, Charles in Charge Scott Baio was another TV Series i bought, all episodes and all seaosns are not tampered with ain anyway especially the music. But Werewolf got the Ax has result of what happend. I have the TV versions of Werewolf:The Complete Series from Fox11 and USA Networks with all the original music intact. I'm glad for that. Do you have a copy of Werewolf fan-made copies from the network? Take Care. |

Member since: 5/28/2008 | | RE: Los Lobos is prime suspect in blocked Werewolf dvd | No idea about the specifics, but if their TV on DVD sets are any indication, Universal seems to have been a lot more on the ball with their music licensing than most of the other studios. Even Miami Vice on DVD, in which nearly the entire soundtrack was licensed music with original incidental tracks by Jan Hammer, has ALL the music intact for the entire series.
So with Fox, it was not only the music licensing, but the fact they didn't keep multi-track masters of the audio (in which case the problem tracks could have easily been replaced). They dropped a pile of balls all around with Werewolf...

Member since: 7/5/2007 | | RE: Los Lobos is prime suspect in blocked Werewolf dvd | Well Sony is the studio who didn't keep the music tracks for Werewolf, not Fox. As for The Incredible Hulk & Charles in Charge, neither of those shows used any significant copyrighted songs that would cause any music clearence issues.
Universal did indeed do a good job with clearing music for Miami Vice, but keep in mind many of the songs in the show were probably already under record labels that fell under the Universal Music Group umbrella. This undoubtedly made them a lot easier to clear.

Th Incredible Hulk had such a huge impact that i think Joe Harnell the compsoer of the series was trying to protect,i guess knowing that if the series ever made it to VHS/DVD which the entire series is out now on DVD, that that he would make sure that it would get a proper release. Which it did successfully. As for Werewolf, It is a shame that it most likely will not see a actual release. I would have settled for a hacked up pilot and the other episodes as well/ Please don't jump the gun yet,let em explain why. The scenes in the pilot they we all have in bootlegs are just about clear and the music is still at least 85 percent good. There are however some hissing sounds though i must admitt. Eeven if we got the Werewolf series actually released with hacked up scenes especially from the pilot i would nolonger care only because these scenes are just about clrear and the sound is really good to almost great at least 85 percent. Yes, don't get me wrong,i would want to have a proper release, but since we the fans already have the complete series of Werewolf with all the music in place anyway i think it would be safe to say that we could do our best to infuse those sences from our fan-made copies of Werewolf into the actual release and dub the original music ourselves. I don't know how to do that but i bet someone can. I don't want to anger anyone on this post. But I think we shout the word out and say you know what shout factory. Go right a head and just release the Werewolf series, cut the scenes out that have the music in them and then we will secretly do the rest once we got the offical release. This is just a thought. Believe me it most likely won't happen ever. But it's worth asking or at least pettioning. |

Brian Ward already said Mike + The Mechanics was not an issue and there is no dialogue during the Timbuk 3 song, so the pilot would've been intact. It's a few other episodes that are causing the problems.

Since Fox 11 was a new station and Werewolf was a new series back in 1987,Werewolf and Fox 11 we're the perfect inforcer. I don't really know why it would bare repeating as a discussion weather this is still an issue. The series is most likely history in ever seeing a proper release.
