I cast my heartfelt and unreserved vote for Shout trying to get their hands on season 7 and beyond. For a whopping SEVEN seasons of a recent, high-quality American comedy series to be largely unavailable is truly a shame. I'm aware of the low sales, but Shout have turned niche shows into winners before. For my money, this show and project is absolutely in their wheelhouse.
As for the music issues, are retaining all the original songs actually that crucial for this show? The very few episodes with musical guests are exceptions of course, but I only tend to notice the score rather than the songs. I can't recall many songs at all to be honest - it's not a major feature of the show for me.
MTV's Daria release is a good parallel: the omission of certain songs that were actually the point of the scene in favour of a few that weren't was frustrating, sure, but it's preferable that the DVDs exist at all, and Shout would no doubt be savvier in their prioritising anyway. What do other KotH fans think?
And Brian, as it stands today, is there any chance of Shout pursuing King of the Hill? |
