Terry O'Quinn gives a wonderfully endearing and sinister performance in this movie. Shout! Factory did a great job and the bonus material fit well. I hope to see more of this suspense sleepers (The Babysitter, Don't Go To Sleep, Killing Mr. Griffin, Summer Girl) make their way onto a quality DVD release with bonus material!! Bravo to Shout! |

Was there some issue with licensing/rights in past years that Shout! Factory somehow 'cleared up' that enabled you guys to finally get the title out there? Just wondering because it took so long for an official Region 1 release (to the point that Stepfather 2 came out on DVD before the original did).
Again, not sure if you can share such info, but thought I'd give it a shot and ask anyway. And, regardless, it sure was worth the wait - it's a great DVD!

Member since: 4/22/2009 | | RE: The Stepfather | | Watched STEPFATHER Blu-Ray... looked really good, that is no manipulation of the HD image which is refreshing, There are some filtered hazy shots in the film but usually the transfer shows good detail.
The lossless PCM 2.0 audio is decent. Overall a really good BD release of another cult horror film.
Can't wait for DEATH RACE 2000 on tuesday already have a copy on reserve at a local Barnes & Noble! |
