Starman
Brian or anyone at Shout! please look into releasing the cult favorite, classic sci fi show that ran from 1987-88.  It is owned by Sony and there was no music used in it so that wouldn't be an issue.  It recently ran in syndication on the sci-fi channel & has followers around the world (any google search will show you Starman conventions).  It is currently the 173rd most requested unlreleased show on tvshowsondvd.com.  There is definitely an audience waiting for this show on DVD, as from the many posts onthe forums through the years asking for it.  Please look into it.  Thanks!

Please bring "Starman" the 1986-87 tv series to DVD. Please bring Gimme A Break seasons 2 & beyond to DVD. Please bring Silver Spoons seasons 2 & beyond to DVD.

I too would like an official release of Starman

"God chose those whom the world considers absurd to shame the wise; he singled out the weak of the world to shame the strong. He chose the world's lowborn and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were something." (1 Cor. 1: 27,28)

Yet another great show that really needs to be released. Starman was such a great show and very heartwarming as well. I would love this in my collection.

A few things I find interesting about Starman

1) It aired on ABC's friday night lineup from 1986-1987, during Mr. Belvedere's 3rd season.

2) The main character was played by Robert Hays (Ted Striker in Airlplane I & II[).

RE: Starman

Yes, I have fond memories of watching Mr Belvedere and Starman on Fridays.  It should also be noted C B Barnes starred in it, who later went on to do the voice of Spiderman in the animated series.

Starman is my most wanted show on DVD.  With Shout releasing my 2nd most wanted show (coming out tomorrow), a show I seriously doubted I would ever see officially on DVD, I'd like to think Shout! could pull a one up.

Yes, no, maybe so.

Guys, I don't know what to tell ya'.  I appreciate the suggestions, but if I haven't commented on them, it's usually because we're not working on them and there's really nothing for me to say.  I can say that I love Starman and that I'm a fan, myself.  That's about it.

Brian

Thank you for the answer.  Is there a chance Shout could get it?  Has it ever been looked at?

RE: Starman
There's always a chance.  But right now, we don't have the license for it and I'm not sure what it would take to get that license.  Or even if it's something that's available.

Acquisitions has the information, but I don't hear much when it comes to deals until after they're done and I'm working on them.  So, I'm afraid I have no updates for now.

Brian

RE: Starman
Brian, I never knew you were a fan of Starman!  It's my most wanted show on DVD that's currently unreleased.  I know Sony owns it and believe me there's fan interest.  A certain fan organization has been trying to push off bootlegs for years.  As you can see from the many posts and threads here there are a lot of fans (myself obviously included) who would love an official DVD release.  It's not like it's a heavy music show and it has instantly recognizable faces (especially to Airplane fans lol).  PLEASE do your best to prevail upon the powers that be in acquistions to try to get this show.  Thanks, from one fan to another.

Please bring "Starman" the 1986-87 tv series, Silver Spoons seasons 2 & beyond and Jennifer Slept Here to DVD.

Gets my vote, haven't seen this since it originally aired. I remember being really impressed with Robert Hays. Not an easy task to fill Jeff Bridges' shoes!
