Member since: 8/8/2009 | | TV Movie - "Summer Girl" starring Barry Bostwick | | This was a really good suspense drama that aired back in 1983. The TV movie was based on the novel by Caroline Crane. Great book! The movie starred Barry Bostwick & Kim Darby as a married couple, who hire a young woman named Cinni to work for the family and help take care of there two young children, while at their beach house for the summer. The part of Cinni was played very well by a young Diane Franklin (I think this was her third movie). Given that Shout! has released Spin City on DVD (starring Bostwick), maybe they can acquire the rights to this movie and release it on DVD, with bonus features that include a reunion with Barry, Kim, and Diane! Maybe even David Faustino (Married...with Children), who'd played the family's son. |

I know this movie has never been released on DVD and I think it also was never released on VHS either. I remember I had it on tape at one time (many, many years ago), but I believe I'd recorded it when it aired on television numerous years ago. Would love to own a copy of this on DVD! |

I hope and pray that Shout! can license this from them and release it, saving it from a barebones Warner Archive release someday. |

I believe it may be available on Amazon for $49.95. The seller stated that they have two (2) copies of the movie. I recorded it back when it aired on television, but after a while the tapes wear out.
