I've said it time and time again. This show needs to be released on dvd. I have asked around and both Ann Jillian and Gail Edwards would love to see the show on dvd. Gail has actually expressed interest in being part of the release. I'm sure Ann Jillian would do commentary or an interview. I would release Seasons 1 & 2 together because they are short seasons. Then, onward to Season 3 and so forth. Please Shout! Pick this series up. It would be a retro-fan's dream to see this show on dvd.

Agreed! Of all the shows unreleased, It's a Living is #1 on my DVD wish list.

Yes, Seasons 1 and 2 were short (14 and 15 episodes, respectively) so they could be packaged as a single release. I also preferred the cast of these 2 seasons better than the ones that came later.

The later seasons I believe ran the standard 22 episodes per season.

This show had great writing and characters, and had the same flavor as Soap, The Golden Girls, and Empty Nest. However, it never gets the credit it deserves since it kind of became like a bastard child demoted to off-network syndication.

If Shout! picks this up, I will fall off my chair, but would be sooo grateful!

RE: ITS A LIVING - 1985 - 1989

It was actually filmed next door to "The Golden Girls". Gail Edwards mentions on her site that Estelle Getty used to come over to visit the set. This is definitely one of those shows that would be great with Shout!

Here's an idea...since there has never been a reunion, why not film a reunion for the bonus feature? I, seriously, think that if people rediscovered the show, they would see what a gem it was.

Idea for coverart, dark grey and red with a photo of the building where the restaurant is and a picture of the cast superimposed over that maybe in a round-edge square to give it a retro 80's feel. Shout!, what do you think?
