Hey Vern, It's Ernest!
I forgot that DIC put out Jim Varney's  "Hey Vern, It's Ernest" show back in 1988-1989, about 4 years ago I actually bought some single episode vhs of the show off ebay, I know the show was kinda corny but it was still classic Jim Varney (RIP) , I would love to see Shout put it out on dvd, although I dont know how strong sales would be.

Amen!  And thank you my Zelda-loving friend.  "Hey Vern, It's Ernest" is about the last of the Ernest collection that has yet to be put on DVD and definitely ought to be.  Though Shout! doesn't advertise on television yet, there is a lot to be said for the online venue.  There are plenty of Ernest fan and tribute sites that would gladly spread the word, as would dedicated fans.  Jim Varney's legacy of laughter deserves this.  Please, Shout! Factory, give us this great memorial.

Also, if you can release this series please consider adding as a bonus the numerous commercial comedy bits for local news that he did and commercials for milk, natural gas, and car dealerships. I know these appeared in many markets for various products but I remember most of all his advertisements for WBRZ news in Baton Rouge.

Good point my snappy sneezing friend.  Some of the later DVD releases of his movies include some of the more nationally-known commericials.  But, indeed, his local spots were just as funny.  If you can find it, look for "The Ernest Film Festival" which contains virtually all of his commercials up through 1982, plus some hilarious bloopers from their production.  I own two VHS copies and wish it would be re-released onto DVD.  Ernest now and forever!
