 Member since: 4/9/2007 | | Question about M.A.S.K. on dvd | B Ward,
I know even though DIC did the M.A.S.K. cartoon, and I have heard that since Hasboro apparently owns the rights to it (presumably because Hasboro put out the toys) is there anyway Shout could in whatever way put M.A.S.K. out on dvd? I would really like to get that, and i know others on here have expressed the same, thanks. |

Please keep trying |

Sorry, guys!

His rating and customer feedback appear good, he says the quality is 7/10. Personally, i am going to order a set from him, even if the quality is kinda bad, cause you knows its recorded off old vhs tapes, its better than not having it at all, and hypothetically say i screwed, its only $20, not to bad of a risk. |

Member since: 4/9/2007 | | RE: Question about M.A.S.K. on dvd | | I would give anything to get MASK released its like GI Joe, they were defining toons of the 80's, it is a shame because personally i would rather have had Shout put out, or be able to put out MASK and GI Joe than any of the cartoons that Shout has put out, I love Zelda animated series, I dont care too much for Super mario bros super show although i own both volumes, I love COPS,and i love Dungeons and Dragons (put out by BCI) but MASK and GI Joe still blow those out of the water, well maybe not D&D cause thats on the same level pretty much as MASK and GI JOE, cause its like 1983-85, real classic. I just bought a bootleg set of all 75 MASK episodes i will post and tell anyone intrested in how the quality is. |

Member since: 10/28/2007 | | RE: Question about M.A.S.K. on dvd | trust,
Can u tell me if u got to watch the whole MASK bootleg set? Is it complete? I find it hard to believe that it has all 75 episodes in its entirety and not have any of the episodes cut off and have bonus stuff like MASK toy commercials and yet fit on only 6 single sided DVD's. The new MASK DVD set by Vortex Studios has episodes 1-38 on 4 DVD's and a second set that has 39-75 on another set of 4 DVD's and these dont have any bonus features whatsoever, so for them, it took 8 DVDs to fit all 75 and you have them on 6? Please let me know if your set is complete and not extremely grainy i would think it would be, because it must be recorded in SEP mode (5-6 hours) on each disk. Thanks |

Doesn't look like there will be a 2nd volume of the UK release, Maximum Entertainment's license is ending.

Kind of a shame, I really liked the cover art for the UK release and its way easier to order R2 from Amazon.co.uk. There was a full release of the show on R4 in Australia, and those are still available http://www.madman.com.au/actions/catalogue.do?releaseId=7140&method=view
I wish there could be a US release for MASK. There is a lot of demand, and with decent quality DVDs available overseas, the lack of an official US release just gives the bootleggers an opportunity to make money on eBay selling pirated DVDs. If you go to eBay you wouldn't even know there wasn't an official R1 release. |

I have stumbled accross the website of James McLean, who is responsible for the cover art of the first Region 2 collection of M.A.S.K. DVDs and asked him via e-mail about whether there will be a second one, as one of the news items on his page is about him working on the cover for the second volume... And he answered that the second volume is a go (yeah!) and it is happenning. When and what the contents will be is unclear... but his answer made me reconsider and I will buy the first volume from Maximum Entertainment. :)
Happy! :D |
