Member since: 8/8/2009 | | TV Movie - "The Babysitter" 30th Anniversary in 2010 | | This is a truly great suspense drama starring Patty Duke, William Shatner, the late John Houseman, Quinn Cummings, and Stephanie Zimbalist as Joanna Redwine, that has never made it to DVD. Given that Shout! Factory is releasing The Patty Duke Show - Season 1 this year and the 30th Anniversary of "The Babysitter" coming in 2010, I would absolutely love to see Shout! Factory release a quality DVD of this movie with a few bonus features thrown in - maybe a reunion with Patty, Bill, Quinn, and Stephanie reflecting back on the making of this well-acted, well-written TV movie would be awesome! |

Also, there is another TV movie that was released on television three years later titled "Summer Girl", that starred Barry Bostwick, Kim Darby, and Diane Franklin. It was based on the novel by Caroline Crane. The movie did follow a somewhat similar plot, but had its own unique style and was also well-acted. |

Do you have any information to give us yet as to whether Shout! Factory is looking into acquiring the rights and producing this on DVD? I firmly believe that a quality DVD of this TV movie with some bonus material (reunion) would make numerous fans happy! |

I hadn't seen it in years and it reaffirmed to me as to why this movie should see a DVD release! I truly hope with Shout! There are only about 4.5 months remaining of 2010 and yet we haven't heard anything from Shout! on acquiring and releasing this on a first time DVD in its 30th anniversary year. I truly do hope that this is one we will see and be able to own before the end of the year (or January at the latest). Please!! Shout! did a fantastic job with Piranha & The Stepfather, both of which I own, now I need this one as part of my DVD library. |

Factory (or any company for that matter). If not, I hope Shout! can still pursue this movie and release it onto a special edition DVD at least some time in the next year. |

When mainstream theatricals aren't even lighting the registers on fire, I'm not positive we can sell the powers that be on spending money on movies that aired once or twice in syndication or on network television. I dunno. Seems riskier than usual, in this climate, to me. Again, I say, I can't wait for the time of a little more frivolous spending to come back. When sales of more impulse titles rise, so will our ability to shop for their licenses.
