Dennis the Menace & Dobie Gillis
Although these shows premiered almost two decades before I was born, I have to say that watching them on both Nick at Nite and TV Land, I have definitely become a fan of these two.  Both of them ran from 1959-1963 Dennis having 146 ep. and Dobie with 147 ep., these still haven't made it to DVD as season sets yet.  Any chance on either or both of these for Shout! Factory?  These two shows need season set releases sooner rather than later!!

put me down as wanting both series on dvd.

I love these shows. I would love to buy this show for myself, as well as give it to friends and family as gifts.

If the situation with Max Shulman's estate ever gets resolved, I would love to finally have an official release for "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis".

Dennis the Menace is a great show! I'd love to see it released on dvd and maybe some interviews with the cast. Jay North and Jeannie Russell have done nostalgia conventions. Not sure what happened to Tommy (Billy Booth) Dennis' best friend on the show though. Gloria Henry is the only one of the adult cast members to still be alive. She acted in a movie in 2005, but she is pretty up there in age now. How awesome would that be to get her though? She also did the E! True Hollywood story of Jay North in the 90s.

Brian,

I believe the rights to Dennis the menace are held by Sony and I know they have licensed other shows they own to Shout! Factory to release on DVD, so what are the chances of acquiring the rights and releasing season sets of this truly great and classic series?  With Dobie Gillis, I think the rights belong to Paramount (I could be wrong) and I am aware that Paramount rarely ever licenses out their property, but it is definitely worth the effort to try.  I think both shows have a strong fanbase.

"Dobie" is Fox, and unfortunately it's been held up by rights issues.

You are right, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis is owned by 20th Century Fox.  I really do hope they get the issues with the rights ironed out, in order to begin releasing season sets of this show!  TV Shows On DVD website has this series ranked at 168 of unreleased shows people would like to see on DVD, which is actually a really good number.  Dennis the Menace is not extremely far behind Dobie Gillis.  Fans need these two on DVD!!

RE: Dennis the Menace & Dobie Gillis
I just found out recently, from Sitcoms Online, that Billy Booth died back in 2006 and also, Robert John Pittman who played the little kid Seymour passed away.  I'm really surprised about these two because they were only in their fifties.
So it's just Jay, Jeannie and Gloria that are left from the cast. That's sad. :(  Hopefully the show will get a dvd release some time in the near future.
