Fifteen (Hillside)
This series was one of the first teen dramas (along with Beverly Hills, 90210) on television and ran for 4 seasons (65 ep).  I remember it with a mixture of thinking the show was groundbreaking, but could also be a bit cheesy.  But, hey, it was 1990, and television drama has come a long way.  However, there is something about this show that is very nostalgic and just fun. There may not be an unbelievably huge fanbase for this show, but I think there are enough of us in our late twenties & early thirties who remember this series with just plain old good fun.  After all, it is where Laura Harris and Ryan Reynolds got a start on their acting careers.  Any chance that Shout! Factory can acquire the rights and release this show?  Maybe in two sets: Seasons 1 & 2 / Seasons 3 & 4.

Brian,

Any chance of looking into acquiring the rights and releasing this show on DVD?  With the success that Ryan Reynolds has experienced over the years, I think it would be great for all the fans of this show (past and present) to see where he got his start.  I believe this show was aired on Nickelodeon so I am unsure whether the rights are owned by them or not.  I know many shows that aired on Nickelodeon have the DVD rights owned by Paramount.  If so, I suppose it may be hard to get, but it's definitely worth the attempt!

Oh how I loved Fifteen! There's some mediocre quality clips on YouTube and it's just as cheesy and fun as I remember it. I also thought a DVD release of the series would do well because of Ryan Reynold's popularity today. I know it's got quite a fanbase online and loads of folks would buy the series if released.

I agree that there is a fanbase out there for this series and people will purchase it!  There are only 65 episodes and as I suggested in my original thread that maybe this show can be released in two sets: Seasons 1 & 2, then Seasons 3 & 4. Please Shout! Factory, acquire the rights and release this series on two DVD sets.  The fans want this show very much.

I just wanted to give some attention again to the release of this series on DVD.  With the ever-increasing popularity of Ryan  Reynolds, who played Billy Simpson on the show, now to be seen as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern film, I do think this is a great time to release on DVD, Fifteen - The Complete First and Second Seasons (a total of 26 episodes). Please, Shout!  If at all possible, acquire and release this series on DVD!!

I read online that episodes of this series have been released on iTunes, but I'd much rather own season sets or a complete series set of this show on DVD.  Does anyone know who owns the distribution rights to this series?  I'd love to see Shout! acquire and release this series.  Any thoughts or ideas?

I visited the Facebook page for the series and there is no talk about releasing this series on DVD, only iTunes.  Season 1 has been released and they are attempting to raise interest in order to justify releasing the remaining seasons.  I much prefer to own this series on DVD and not downloaded iTunes.

I thought with the recent teaming of Shout! Factory and Nickelodeon to release classic live-action and animated shows from the Nickelodeon vault, I decided to bring this one back to the top in order to generate interest and support for the release of this series in its entirety on DVD.  Ryan Reynolds has developed a strong career for himself and it would be great to see him again playing young teen, Billy Simpson, in this series.  It is currently ranked at 299 on TVShowsOnDVD unreleased rank.

It has been 8 months since my last post to this thread and thought with the continued releases of classic Nickelodeon shows on DVD by Shout!, I want to bring this back to the top and hopefully generate more interest from fans of this early series.  It features a young Ryan Reynolds, who was in the show for its entire 4 season run.
