With a live-action movie being filmed of this truly awesome animated TV series that aired from 1978-1985 with 85 episodes to the series, I (and I'm sure many other fans) would like to see quality season sets or a complete series set of this show be released. I am unaware who holds the DVD rights to the show, but if they are up for grabs or can be acquired, I would love to see Shout! undertake the process of putting this show with incredible power and longevity on DVD. To date only volume sets with a few episodes on each have been released and I believe they have now been discontinued by the manufacturer.

Tatsunoko ended Sandy Frank's contract to Gatchaman (aka Battle With The Planets) same goes for Turner's G- Force thus reverting Gatchaman back to Tatsunoko
I just wanted to present the idea again to Shout! Factory in regards to releasing season sets of this truly awesome animated TV series. Shout! has seen success with the numerous animated shows they have been releasing and I trust they would be able to do this series justice on DVD. Remember, there is a film version in production for the series, so why not acquire the rights and begin releasing this series on DVD in order to bring this great show back to the forefront!! I have fond childhood memories of this series (always partial to the more adventure-based animated shows). Anyone else share my ideas for this series on DVD season sets?
Does anyone know who owns the controlling rights to this series? I read at TVShowsOnDVD the DVD rights are owned by Rhino. Is this accurate? I would LOVE to own high quality season sets to this series or a complete series set (85 eps.) I believe that a live-action film version of this show is set to be released sometime this year or next.
