Unfortunately thoughof all the 80s sitcoms I can think of I think this one's got the biggest long shot of making it to DVD. Not because it wasn't good..but because it was a very good show that had more of a very loyal following and not everyone knew about it.
Shout really needs to go to Warner and say "Look, these are the series people on our boards are begging us to release. Every last one of them you own the rights to. How many of them are you willing to give us the rights to and allow us to release them instead?" At least get them to the table to talk about all of this. I would think, if Warner truly doesn't wanna bother with some of these shows it would be best for them to license the rights to Shout, for the sake of all those shows. It's time for Shout to do that, just lay out a list of all their shows in front of them people here are requesting and go look we're willing to look into releasing these, if you'd be willing to give us the rights to them. Simple as that. |

Thank you again for all your hard work at Shout! Factory. I have been purchasing DVD's from your company via Amazon.com and in retail stores.
Keep up the great work and I hope you can release this show and my favourites listed:
Small Wonder, Mr. Belvedere, The Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes, My Two Dads, Danger Bay, Empty Nest, The Golden Palace (Golden Girls Season 8) and The Nanny. As you can see most of these titles are from the 1980s!!!

I will take it anyway I can get it, at a store or off the site! Even just Season 1 would be way better than nothing! But I agree with Mr. Ward...I think I know the reason going the releasing individual seasons route probably won't be a good idea. As I said before, this series has a VERY loyal but MUCH smaller fan base than some other shows from the 80s. So if they go the releasing by individual season route it may not sell well enough to get past Season 1 BUT Season 1 would be better than nothing. I agree with Quack though whole heartedly. If Shout's going to release this show, the best way to do it would be a Complete Series Boxset with all 5 seasons. As he said all of us that really want the whole series would then be able to get it and they'd have a better chance of reaching all the very loyal fans this way too. The set wouldn't even have to have any extras. Just a complete series box set with every episode would be plenty enough for me and a lot of others at this point. If Shout does this show, I'll support it either way..individual seasons or complete series box set but I'd really like to see a complete series set. |
