412 Hercules and the Captive Wemen
505 Magic Voyage of Sinbad. My least favorite episode of all time
623 Amazing Transperant man
909 Gorgo.
What are yours.

My list would look something like this:
0208 - Lost Continent (least favorite of this list)
0411 - The Magic Sword (this is my favorite of this list if I had to pick)
0516 - Alien from L.A.
0808 - The She-Creature |

I think a set with Moon Zero Two and Colossus and the Headhunters as 2 of the 4 titles wouldnt be inspiring to me either, even if it had 2 Lippert titles from Season 2 in it..( i like the Lippert movies, and have prayed forever for DVD releases)

Member since: 6/22/2008 | | RE: Your worst nigthmare Boxset | Like I mentioned in another thread, there are episodes I don't care for; in spite of the fact that, as a completionist, I'd still get them anyway. I'm just hoping that they won't wind up all on the same set:
- 305 Stranded in Space
- 403 City Limits
- 605 Colossus and the Headhunters
- 802 Leech Woman
I guess we could rename this thread, "Please B Ward! Only as a Last Resort!" If these all wound up on one set, I would ALMOST boycott it, citing that the cruel hands of fate (and movie distributors) were in on some conspiracy to frustrate me!
I'd still get it, though. |

Member since: 12/23/2008 | | RE: Your worst nigthmare Boxset | | Agreed. I have every set that has been released from Rhino and SF, and there were a couple that didn't blow me away. Still, it's a matter of supporting the show (and now SF as well) and being a die-hard fan. Any episode that comes out will be a welcome part of a collection. I just have my favorite episodes and some that didn't wow me so much, which is true of any show really. Or any fan for that matter. |

Member since: 1/28/2008 | | RE: Your worst nigthmare Boxset | I would buy the set too I just wouldn't be the first one to own it like I normally am. I'd probably wait until holiday or something. When the titles for volume 15 were announced I was really disapointed in the selection, the only one I was interested in was Robot and even then I knew that wasn't going to be a stellar episode. I imagine my reaction to the 4 afformentioned episodes I would probably feel the same way. but I would buy it eventually.

I have all the DVDs from SF and Rhino. Luckily all but 2 episodes I am not fond of are released. Of the remaining 2, only one has a good chance of being released and other not so much. There are only 4 or 5 episodes I really did not like all that much so the number is small no matter how you look at it..

In the end, no matter what four episodes come out, there will be folks that are thrilled with the set and those that are a little disappointed. Just the nature of things.
I'm sure down the line, there will sets that come out that have one or more of my least favorite episodes. But I also know that there will be ones that have some of my favorite episodes that are still not on DVD. |

Member since: 7/23/2009 | | RE: Your worst nigthmare Boxset | I'm with you guys... Bad MST3k is better than great everything else, in my opinion... I either really love, love, or really like every episode... and there are, literally, only a handful of episodes that I don't revisit too often. Here they are, and remember, opinions are like #ssholes... everyone has one and most of them stink:
323 - The Castle of Fu Manchu
401 - Space Travelers
615 - Kitten with a Whip
909 - Gorgo
With extra: 1009 - Hamlet
Hamlet would really edge out Kitten with a Whip, but since it is already released, I added it as an extra. I wanted to make sure that the 4 from my "Nightmare Box Set" are ones not released, and thankfully, most of them are not. I legitimately don't care for Gorgo, Hamlet, and Fu Manchu. The actual movie, Space Travelers, is just really boring. Nothing is going on, and when they're is something going on, its slow paced. The riffing was pretty good, but the movie is yawnsville. Same thing with Hamlet. Its not because they are riffing on Shakespeare... the movie is just so solemn and reserved. Fu Manchu has its fans, but I just can't get into it. I've tried to watch it many times. Its not Hamlet or Space Travelers, but its not MST3k's finest hour. Kitten with a Whip is not a horrible movie, and I find myself distracted by the plot and Ann Margaret. Sorry, I like curvy 50's and 60's ladies. Its not terrible, its just overshadowed by the not-to-terrible movie they are watching. Gorgo just falls flat on all counts for me. I can't even remember any of the riffs in that movie... Those are really the only episodes that I'm not fond of... the rest of MST3k is pretty much golden in my eyes. |

Member since: 6/22/2008 | | RE: Your worst nigthmare Boxset | Well sirhamhat, you just may be in luck: other than Castle of Fu Manchu, I believe most of those titles are considered <UNLIKELY> to <EXTREMELY UNLIKELY> on Travis Hosey's list. I disagree with you about Kitten With a Whip; I think the riffing on that was very good to go along with the potboiler aspect of the movie's plot. (I do agree that Ann Margaret does distract from the riffing from time to time; VERY kittenish! ) But Fu Manchu and Space Travelers are both pretty tough to sit through. |

But hey, to each his/her own, yes? |
