The Ann Sothern Show & Private Secretary/Susie
I know it's a long shot, but I'd love to see one or both of Ann Sothern's sitcoms "Private Secretary" (known as "Susie" in syndication) and "The Ann Sothern Show" on DVD. Select episodes of "Private Secretary" were released on budget DVDs some years back, but since the episodes are now in public domain, the quality is less than stellar. I think the releases would do quite well as Sothern has a strong and devoted following and neither shows have been aired in reruns since Nick at Nite ran them back in the 80s.

I used to watch Private Secretary regularly on Nick At Nite back in the late 1980's as well. I really enjoyed it and had no idea at the time that I would never see it on TV again! I don't remember much about the Ann Sothern show but I remember liking Private Secretary better.
I do have all of the public domain DVD's and a couple of VHS tapes for a total of about 22 episodes, but that is only about one-fifth of the total series. The quality of some of the episodes on DVD is not good (one episode has a terrible wavering in pitch (a.k.a. "WOW") that starts about halfway through the episode and could probably induce seasickness).
This is one of my most favorite series from the 1950's.

The public domain DVDs usually come from old 16mm prints. CBS Television might have the original prints in storage since these shows were done at Desilu.

Desilu material is owned by Paramount now, except for I Love Lucy, which is owned by CBS.

Oh, yes!  Please! Please! Please!  I'd love to see these two great shows released to DVD.  I remember watching them as a kid and then watching them again with great joy on Nick at Nite.  Miss Sothern was then and is still now my favorite actress.  I would buy them all in a heartbeat.  I'd love them episode order, year by year.  And I agree, I too believe they would do well.
