RE: What are the odds Shout can release any of these films?
I know that Godzilla 1985 [aka The Return of Godzilla] is trapped (for now anyways) in a rights/legal issue.

New World had the US/North American rights as they had distributed the movie in the North America when it was released.  At some point the rights to films owned by New World from 1984 - 1991 were sold to Anchor Bay Entertainment.  However, Toho does not recognize Anchor Bay as the current North American rights holders of The Return of Godzilla/Godzilla 1985

Like most companies, Toho is pretty tight lipped when it comes to legal stuff -- so it's unknown what the exact reasoning is or even when New World's contract with Toho expires.  Perhaps it'll take that contract running out and Toho licensing the rights to another company before we'll see a release, though I certainly hope not.

I got GODZILLA 1985 on VHS now. It's a great bad movie. I'm in no hurry for a DVD now.

But it's good enough for one. Fans need this cheese.
