Hot L Baltimore (1975)
Obscure title, I suppose, but it's a Norman Lear show had Charlotte Rae and James Cromwell (among others). It was based on a theatrical play of the same name, ran on ABC in 1975 and was cancelled after 13 episodes. Anyone remember this one? Last I read, it had kind of a colorful cult following.

HOT L BALTIMORE was actually "Hotel Baltimore" -- the first "E" in the neon sign seen on the opening credits was burned out.  The show centered on the eccentric residents of a fleabag hotel, and perennial TV actors Richard Masur and Conchata Ferrell were also in the cast.  I think (as with most of Norman Lear's '70s shows) there was a controversy because of the constant sexual innendo, and it was also the first (?) sitcom to prominently feature a gay couple.  I'd love to see the show on DVD.  Sony just released a big boxed set of Norman Lear's shows (which was rather redundant, since it included first seasons of a bunch of shows they've already released seperately, without the new bonus features), and they rather conveniently omitted this one.

Of course, I remember this show. One of Norman Lear's forgotten "cancelled" gems.

The most memorable part was the "Parental Discretion Is Advised" warning at the beginning! Just kidding, I'd love to see this come out too!

Another vote for this one.

Would love to see this show. Wasn't Gloria LeRoy in it too (Boom Boom Turner)? Lots of familiar faces in this one. Would be a hidden gem for classic tv fans to discover.

I will add my vote to this. I'm a big fan of Norman Lear, but being born in 1979 I've had to rely on syndicated reruns of his shows, and this one did not run long enough to get syndicated. I'm grateful to Shout! Factory for releasing The Bill Cosby Show, another show that was on my wish-I-could-have-seen-it list, and I hope that there might be some way for them to license and market this show as well. I've never even seen a clip, but I've read vintage television reviews and people's recollections of the show online, and I would buy it in an instant.
