I would LOVE to see this series released onto DVD starring the wonderful Phyllis Diller complete and uncut. I understand that it aired in syndication in the UK back in the 80's but aside from this I think it has never aired elsewhere since it's original airings on ABC back in 1966-67. It's humor is very similar to the 60's style Lucy Show. It is in a sense a reverse Beverly Hillbillies concept where the wealthy rich have to learn to live without all their fortunes when they learn they owe millions in back taxes to the government. The twist is that they must still give all appearances that they are still wealthy. Ms Diller plays the matriarch of this family,Phyliss Pruitt who each episode does her best to maintain appearances while attempting to find new ways of making money.Like Lucy, each week finds Phyllis in one crazy caper after another. The show is quite hilarious and deserves to find its way back into the spotlight via a DVD series release.
sounds really funny and interesting though i had never seen it i would deffinately give it a try on dvd shout has been suprising me lately with some awesome releases so maybe they will check it to it who knows
This would be so cool! They could do a Phyllis Diller collection. This show did not last very long and is considered one of the worst shows in US TV history. BUT, people love Diller and having a collection of her work would be fantastic.
I love Phyllis Diller, she's a great and wondeful classy perason and actress. I have never heard of this show until a few weeks ago, when I was surfing around YouTube and came across the opening them song. I'd get this series on DVD if it ever came out.
I remember that show and always loved it. I don't think it ever went into syndication because I never saw it after it was cancelled.
