"PUSH, NEVADA" (2002--Touchstone/Disney Television)

Dear Shout! Factory,

I loved your DVD release of the Touchstone/Disney TV series "MIRACLES".

Since Shout! Factory clearly has a positive working relationship with Touchstone/Disney, I would like to suggest that you license the 2002 series "PUSH, NEVADA" from Touchstone. This short-lived (7 episode--plus who-knows-how-many Unaired Episodes) scored HUGE ratings when it premiered. The ratings quickly fell and the series was cancelled after 7 episodes aired. "PUSH, NEVADA" was created by Oscar-winning actor/screenwriter/director Ben Affleck and Sean Bailey. The series was a quirky mystery/suspense/detective drama with a healthy-dose of "Twin Peaks" weirdness thrown in. This series truly defies written description and must be seen...experienced by the attentive viewer. I"ll quote from the IMDB entry for "PUSH, NEVADA": "A federal agent (Derek Cecil) travels to a small town in search of a missing $1,000,000 (while the audience gets the opportunity to find--and win the money first). "PUSH, NEVADA"--short-lived as it was--was one of the Best Shows that ABC has ever aired. I've watched my VHS recordings of this unforgettable series numerous times since 2002. I'm convinced that fans of quality TV would purchase a DVD release of this excellent series.

The 7 episodes of "PUSH, NEVADA" are as follows:

#1--"The Amount" (09/17/02)

#2-"The Black Box" (09/19/02)

#3-"The Color of..." (09/26/02)

#4-"Storybook Hero" (10/03/02)

#5-"The Letter of the Law" (10/10/02)

#6-"S.O.S." (10/17/02)

#7-"Jim's Domain" (10/24/02)

**Final Clue from promo featuring Derek Cecil aired during ABC MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (10/28/02)

Please bring "PUSH, NEVADA" to DVD!

Have to agree on this one.  The entire thirteen episode first season was produced, but ABC in their infinite wisdom (as they have done with Alias, Lost, and many other promising shows) decided that Push was 'too hard to follow for our viewers', so they killed it after seven episodes, giving you the final clues at the end of the last episode in a clearly tacked-on conclusion.

BUT, this show is fascinating, insane, delightful, thought-provoking, and really intense.  GREAT televsion, that should FINALLY be seen in its entirety.

Your life is an occasion -- rise to it.

This is one we were actually looking at way back in the day.  I guess it was around the time we released Miracles with Skeet Ulrich and Angus Macfadyen.  Ultimately, it was one we ended up passing on, due to a couple of factors:

1. Extremely low ratings

2. The gimmick.

The series was basically a game show.  And seeing as how no one really cared enough to participate, it seemed like one that wasn't really worth releasing.  However, maybe that's what makes it worth examining again.  Maybe we can get bonus materials that go back and examine the premise and what is the creators really wanted to do with the series.

I dunno...

Do enough people really remember Push, Nevada?  Thoughts?

Brian

I would buy this series in an instant. At the least, It would contain the seven aired episodes but I would love to know if any others were shot. I believe that given a chance on DVD this show could have the cult following of an 'American Gothic'. I understand that it may seem that the marketing of the show was a bit 'gimmicky' but watch any episode and you'll see why so many people compared this to 'Twin Peaks'. I would love to see you guys go after this series. I have a feeling there are more fans out there than you think. C'mon, people are buying 'Small Wonder'. :) Thanks and I really hope you follow through on this series that sadly, wasn't given a chance. - Doug

I would be interested in Push, Nevada.  Liz Vassey was also in another show I would really like to see on DVD: "Maximum Bob".

I would love to buy this series, too. (I know this is an old thread, but I've been looking all over for Push, Nevada on DVD with no luck). I watched all the episodes and looked forward to seeing more (and I was not playing the game. It wasn't necessary to enjoy the show). If the rest of the season was available, too, that would be even better.
