I feel it goes without saying that this show was the underdog and most forgotten (but most beautifully animated) of the Robot shows in the U.S. during the 80s. There were a couple of episodes released by MGM/UA, but I feel the whole series deserves to get the DVD treatment.

Was going to start one if there wasn't. ..... and I couldn't agree more on the subject of Mighty Orbots getting a full DVD release. I even went so far as to email TMS to find out who has the rights. This was the response:
Please be advised that Universal (MCA),
which is our co-production partner of Mighty Orbots,
has the right to US market.
I know Orbots doesn't have a huge fallowing, but with all the Transformers hype right now I'm sure a robot themed show would do well. It's a shame that such a great show has been ignored for so long. Out of all the 80's cartoons Orbots had the best animation by far. And, if something isn't done soon it could be lost to us forever.
Shout! please release Mighty Orbots. It will just be a small set and will make so many of us happy and loyal customers to your company. |

I disagree that it is an underdog, back when it was broadcast it's ratings were among the top five, the only reason there were only 13 episode was because they got a silly demand that scared the producers of the show. Therefore I think that releasing this show on DVD would be quite profitable for Shout Factory since most people will remember it and want buy their copy. |

But, what it does have in it's favor is it's a short series with only 13 episodes and a cult fallowing. That might be enough to make it a worth while release. I still have hope that we will one day see it released on DVD. |

I also missed this show from my childhood. Even as a kid I could see the episodes were well drawn. If shout factory brought out a complete disc set, this out I would buy it in a hear beat.
I would also love to see a detailed toy of Might Orbots, but one thing at a time  |
