Hot Wheels (1969)

How about putting the 1969-1971 cartoon series "Hot Wheels" on DVD?

Wow!  It's like what would happen if Hanna-Barbera produced Speed Racer!

RE: Hot Wheels (1969)
i am only 27 so know memory of this series but as a hot wheel collector i have found three episodes and have found a 16mm film reel containing 2 more episodes. I have tried my darndest to find out who owns the rights. I have contacted pantomime pictures who claimed an old employee who has passed away owns the rights and now his son has taken them. but i have no clue, maybe this info will help someone. Also a note the FCC had the show taken off the air. So hard telling if it would even be allowed to be released

RE: Hot Wheels (1969)

The FCC had this series, along with it's sister series Skyhawks after a group of do-gooders called Action For Children's Television convinced the FCC these were both "Program Length Commercials" (Mattel had three of the cars featured in the series, the Jack Rabbit Special, The Demon and the Sand Crab in its line of toy cars, but these were introduced in the shows second year. Who came first, the chicken or the egg?) and had them taken off the air.  As for Skyhawks, none of the aircraft were made as toys, like some kids going to beg their parents to go to an Aircraft Dealer and purchase a Cessina Skyhawk.

I would like to see BOTH Series on DVD. I have found a handfull of episodes from both series (I refuse to say how I got them on the grounds it may incriminate me), they make a great little "Blast from the Past". These will just have to tide me over until an official release comes out.
