What would be the point?

You say a lot of MST3K fans hated it, but I don't see what's so bad about getting two MST episodes and the Poopie! reel for the price of one DVD. Even if you already had the single release of MANOS, you were still only paying the price you would have paid for just Santa vs Martians anyway, only this version of MANOS also had Poopie! on it which the other didn't.

And there's a 100 other titles Shout could be releasing instead of one that's already been put out.

That's completely beside the point, and not at all a good reason why Shout factory should re-release a Rhino episode simply because you don't like that it comes with a pre-existing episode at no additional cost. If it's really that big of a deal, throw away the Manos dvd and boom, there you go, single Santa Conquers the Martians.

But it wasn't the only way to get the disc. As far as I know, Rhino is STILL selling it for cheap as a single disc to add to V10. You can't fault Rhino because these people didn't do their homework and find out they can buy it single for $10 online.

Again, I fail to see how this was unfair to the fans. I'm happy with the Gila Monster situation, myself. I bought v10 when it came out. When they went through the whole legal trouble and released Gila Monster seperately and as a set, it just gave me one extra episode, and for cheap. Same thing goes for the essentials. I hadn't bought Manos on DVD yet (I still had my VHS copy), so for the price of one single dvd I got that, a new episode and Poopie. Doesn't seem very unfair.

Again, I fail to see how. No offense, but it seems more to be an issue of self-entitlement to me. The essentials DVD costs the same amount of money as if it were just Santa vs the Martians, but you get an extra episode and the Poopie reel. If you don't like that, nobody is forcing you to buy it. But it's pointless that Shout should scratch off a completely new episode (like, say, Santa Claus) just to give us one that's already readily availible, either as a single for the same price but you won't get as much with it, or in a set which would mean bumping off a new release for a re-release.

Your entire grievance here is that you don't like that Santa was released alongside an episode that was already put out and that you already own because you feel they could have put another new episode on that set, so your proposed solution is to put the pre-existing Santa Conquers The Martians on a set, and bump off a new episode for one that's already availible. Just kind of seems like a self-defeating circle to me.

It's not a "poltitical debate". I'm simply pointing out a self-defeating flaw in your argument that apparently you can't contend with, and feel the need for attitude instead.

 All I've done is provide good reason why Shout Factory shouldn't, and probably wouldn't "double-dip" this DVD.
