Will all the MST3K sets have 4 episodes or ........ ?
I was wondering if 4 episodes per set would be the standard or will we can an occasional  5th or 6th episode in a set ? Is that too much ? I dont want less than 4 :)

But will you pay 75 dollars for a 6 episode set, dsman?  That's the icy cold reality that you must confront.

Well I know you would :)
And yes I most likely would since I get all the sets - and besides online retailers would still sell them for less

Of course I would.  With a quickness to defy all laws of physics.

I think the configuration will pretty much always be four episodes per set.  Can't say that for sure, but we're definitely taking that approach with XV and XVI.

XV and XVI - Brian my friend you do tempt me to ask what titles do you have on these sets, and you already have things in place for XVI ?? We are still getting hyped up for 15...
Oh wow is all I can say. I like how you at least talk to us consumers as opposed to Dr Rhino who never told or suggested anything forthcoming..
This is a treat in itself..

Yes Brian, allow me to also commend you for keeping us MSTies on the pulse of what the future holds. Just finished watching XIV (another fine job BTW) and now you're whetting my appetite for more.  Keep up the stellar work!

We do have some options for XVI, especially now that we've bumped one of our titles for XV.  Trying to keep things moving along, for sure.

And what title would that be :)
Give you give us some hints or clues ?
I dont know why by my immediate guesses were Bride of the Monster and Castle of Flu Manchu, but on the other hand it could be some really great episode or popular one like Puma Man or Santa Claus or Samson vs the Vampire Women...

I'm just glad we got a company who wants to put out MST3K as much as possible.  Thinking two sets ahead is brilliant!

Oh, we're thinking for more ahead than two sets.  For some of our plans, we have to.

Hey Brian,

I was wondering, when you guys are negotiating to get the movie rights for MST3K episodes, have you ever been turned down by the movie's owners because they resent the fact that their property was mocked and don't want it seen in a MST3K version. Or does it always come down to money? Thanks.

Oh, yes.  There are certain episodes you'll never likely see, due to the feelings of the film rights holders.

Would that include titles from Warner Brothers, MGM and the AIP Roger Corman Bert I Gordon movies...I would assume Godzilla vs the Sea Monster would be one certain one.

Roger Corman and Bert I Gordon do not own any of the MSTied films they worked on:

(I'd really like input on this from Shout Factory, as it would make my list that much more accurate).

Hey Travis I know that they dont own them, but I basically referring to those Season 3 movies that were made by Mr BIG and Roger Corman - according to your Likelihood releases it does appear that Lionsgate or Susan Hart owns them. I like that list of yours, it is a good read Travis :)
Id be curious to know about those Gosh Darn Gamera movies are they really possible ?

RE: Will all the MST3K sets have 4 episodes or ........ ?

Personally, I like the four-episode format that Rhino started and that S!F has continued.  If the day ever came when Shout had more than four to a set, of course I'd go along and buy it (even with the inevitable mark-up price), but I feel there's no need to make the sets any larger.

To Travis: That list you made about potential episode availability was remarkable!  I find myself looking at it very often, trying to guess what future releases from Shout will be.  I, myself, would love to know the specific process SF goes through to attain the rights to use these movies.
