Member since: 2/25/2007 | | Where On DVD Is Carmen Sandiego? | Shout Factory, thanks for bringing the first season of Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? to DVD! You guys are, as always, the best. Just curious about the following seasons, though. Haven't seen anything with an ad or a date, and I hope it's going to work out to bring them home as well. Many Carmen enthusiasts still roam the world and can't fight the yearning for old favorites. Speaking of which, are there any plans or even possibilities to put the PBS gameshow on DVD? Six seasons of Where In the World Is Carmen Sandiego? would look great alongside the cartoon in any collection.
Any other ACME fans out there? Give me an AMEN!

And I'm also wondering about the rest of the cartoon coming to DVD cause I haven't heard anything about it and would absolutely love it if Brian could actually fill us in on what's going on with that since there aren't any previews or ads for it on the 1st disc of Captain N: The Game Master or any other classic cartoons that have already been released by Shout! Factory.
I would absolutely love to own all the seasons of this cartoon since I didn't watch it too much when it was originally on the Fox Kids network as well as missed all the re airings on the Fox Family Channel and PAX. |

Member since: 1/12/2007 | | RE: Where On DVD Is Carmen Sandiego? | I loved working on that set, but its initial release was a handful of years ago and, I'm afraid, Carmen's elusive nature was true even in sales. I'm afraid there are no current plans for a second volume any time soon.

What would it take for there to be a web exclusive for more Carmen? Are there any other shows that didn't fair as well at retail that you guys might consider selling as an exclusive on the site or on Amazon on demand dvd? |

And, sadly, for as bad as C.O.P.S.' first volume sold in stores, Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? did way fewer. I'm highly doubting it would do nearly as well as we'd need via DTC.
I'll look into it, but these are my strictly fact-based thoughts.

1) I love Carmen Sandiego. I had a crush on her when I was a kid. She proved that the good guys don't have to win every time. I wish she'd actually done a bit more than gotten away each time. Example, the time she kidnapped two white lion cubs, I wish she's kept one. I mean, she had TWO. DiC couldn't have let her kept it?
2) I'm really sick of my DVDs only being half done. I know this is not your fault, Brian. It can't be helped. I've got half of Gargoyles. I've got less than half of Just Shoot Me. No season 3 of Transformers Animated is killing me. Slowly. I've got only the weak first season of Carmen Sandiego.While we're on the matter of fixing things wrong with the world, I want Firefly and Freaks & Geeks back on TV. :p Anyways, I saw this http://www.amazon.com/Where-Carmen-Sandiego-Chadwick-Pelletier/dp/B000EQ5VJ0 and it made me sad. Sad that it was that low, and sad that I already had it so I couldn't buy it again. Then I got to thinking. I don't know much about DVD releases, but that seems a much more reasonable price than what it was to begin with. It might sell much better that low. Then again, with seasons 2 and 3 shoved in together (6 episodes and 10 episodes) you might need to charge more than the S1 set.
If it is at all possible, I'd love to see another Carmen release. Maybe as an exclusive. But then again, if by some mirical we get seasons 2 and/or 3, we're still going to be stuck in the same boat about season 4, the one that most people never saw because they show was being canceled at that time. Makes me incredibly sad that even if this problem gets fixed, it'll still exist. |
