From 2005-2007, Encore Westerns aired gorgeous restored versions of the 60 minute episodes, which I believe were quite popular. The show has a very active fan base. It's originally airing in 1971-1973 attracted many kids and teenagers as fans and those people are still around with money to spend on DVDs. AS&J and its co-star Pete Duel have both been the subjects of books within the past 4 years.
I'm very pleased that Shout! Factory released the second season of "Simon and Simon" today and have already purchased my set. I think that the second season of AS&J would also be in demand. |

I rediscovered ASJ through Netflix last year and even though I watched all of Season 1 that way, I still went out and bought the DVDs because I like the show so much. I have emailed Universal more than once to ask when they plan to release the rest of ASJ on DVD and their response has been noncommittal. So I respectfully ask ShoutFactory to please consider taking ASJ on, and making a multitude of fans very happy. Thank you! |

(I'll bet that's no surprise to anyone reading this thread.  ) But, we're still sincere about wanting to see more seasons of the show on DVD and think that it would be very popular. And, we also think that it is wonderful that Shout! Factory is able to keep old TV shows alive and to have a profitable business in doing so. 
Many of us are also big "Simon and Simon" fans and were heartened by Shout! Factory's release of its season 2 yesterday. S&S and AS&J have a lot in common, even though the time eras of the two series differ. Both are buddy shows with two attractive, charming, talented, and popular male leads. Both shows have a mixture of action, humor, wit, and seriousness, which is appealing to their fans. When AS&J fans discuss their other favorite TV series, S&S is one that is often mentioned. |

And, there really are a lot of fans out there. One AS&J message board has 613 registered members and numerous other fans participate on several other boards and e-mail lists also related to the show and its actors. (Plus, surely there are loads of people who love the show but don't post on the internet.) In 2006, a group of about 50 AS&J fans from one board even went to the Western Film Fair in Charlotte, NC to see AS&J co-star Ben Murphy in person.
And--one more thing--AS&J has the potential for an international audience. AS&J was one of the most popular US series ever aired in the UK. When it originally aired in 1971-1973, it was THE most popular US series to ever air in the UK. It aired in the UK most recently on Granada Plus TV about 7 years ago and in Europe on TV 3 at about the same time. Some of the fans who have posted on this thread are from the UK. It's also quite popular in the Netherlands and Sweden, had an extensive airing with Spanish subtitles in Central and South American about 10 years ago, and was the subject of a series of Japanese fan publications in the 1970s. |

Perhaps adding bonus features would make some people more willing to buy the Season 2 and 3 DVDs. |

Let shout factory have a go , the universal season 1 release here in England was low quality, they didnt even bother to restore the print, it was full of scratches, and no special features, unless you call Glen A Larson droning on a special feature. Let Shout factory give season 2 the treatment it deserves. In my youth i never realy took to Roger davies as Hanibal Heyes. But thinking back he didnt do a bad job considering the tragic circumstances. I seem to remember the season 3 stories were quite good, so i would purchase season 3 if it were released. It had everything in it, action, comedy, the stories were great. I only saw that they had finally released the first season recently and was very surprised that there doesn't seem to be any guarantee of the rest of them being released. It has been some time since they have been shown and when they are they are only a few episodes out of order, or I would have recorded them all. I would love to see them all released on DVD and seeing the amount of fans here, they need to be. |

There is an active and growing fanbase of asj fans. I've regularly seen comments from younger people who have discovered the show on You-tube.
Please please release the other 2 series they are long over due.
