Seen footage of the pilot THE GREEN SLIME

The host segments and brief footage of THE GREEN SLIME. Joel with long hair, Gypsy's a guy, and Beeper. Joel, the last man left alive, and he built the SOL.

Original purpose of the show was to watch the movie, not make fun of it? He doesn't really talk in the theatre.

I love the doors to the theatre, like the locker door, the bedroom wood door, and the safe door.

Is there too many rights issues, or can the footage, or at least host segments appear as a special feature in future box sets? I always thought of a "Best of Host Segments" feature for a DVD, use host segments from episodes that have too many rights issues to release the whole episode. You know like REVENGE OF THE CREATURE.

RE: Seen footage of the pilot THE GREEN SLIME

Portions of the Green Slime host segments are shown in the 'History of MST3K' documentary on the 20th Anniversary set.  B Ward has said several times on the message boards that it's not so much the 'Green Slime' rights that keep this from getting released, so much as the reluctance of Best Brains to show their very early stuff.  He mentioned that Shout really tried to get the full Pilot onto the Anniversary set, but no go.  Also, Joel mentions in the documentary that MST was originally about hosting the movie through it's entirety (where other shows only hosted their films at beginning and end), rather than poking fun at it.  The riffing apparently developed throughout the KTMA season, which Best Brains also seems unwilling to see released.

Well without scripts it's obvious those episodes weren't funny. Still, it's the pilot, funny or not it should be seen.

The pilot or any KTMA material on 20AE would have been a fantastic extra.
