"Not bird, nor plane, nor even frog, it's just little 'ole me, Underdog!"
In 1959 audiences were introduced to Shoeshine Boy, a humble and lovable cartoon dog who was secretly the superhero Underdog ! Always eager to save the dog he loved, Sweet Polly Purebred, Shoeshine Boy would duck into a phone booth and transformer into Underdog to save his damsel in distress from foes such as Simon Bar Sinister or Riff Raff.
In 1964 Underdog was introduced to the world in the form of a TV series The Underdog Show and the character has since gone on to star in films, radio shows, and a popular float in the Macy’s Day Parade.
