ABOUT
Born James Osterberg Jr., it wasn’t long until he donned the “Iggy Pop” moniker (a reference to his first band, The Iguanas). As a member of The Stooges, Iggy and his band were leaders and innovators in the punk rock scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s. After the breakup of The Stooges in 1975, Iggy started a solo career that has spanned 35 years and 15 full length albums. Iggy and The Stooges’ music has influenced and inspired countless bands and artists over the year, and Iggy has been called “The Father of Punk Rock,” who also was the originator of the “stage dive” and other wild concert antics.
