America has been infested with aliens since the 1940s, but a government cover-up has kept them hidden from the public. John Loengard (Eric Close) and Kim Sayers (Megan Ward) try to stay one step ahead of the government as they attempt to thwart the plans of “the Hive,” the alien species invading Earth.
Through the manipulation of historical events and public figures, the Hive has attempted to infiltrate the human race. Incorporating real life people and events such as the Beatles, Jim Morrison and the assignation of JFK, Dark Skies ran on NBC for one season before it was cancelled. Much to the dismay of its fans, the show never got the opportunity to expand its mythology through the end of the 21st century, as the show’s creator was unable to complete his original plan of a five-season series arc.
