A superstar of film, broadcast, stage, and USO shows, Bob Hope was the ultimate humanitarian whose legacy will never be forgotten. His move from stage acting to film started in New York, and, before he knew it, he had become one of Paramount’s biggest stars.
At the height of his career, Hope was co-starring in numerous films with such stars as Lucille Ball and Bing Crosby. Between the years of 1939 and 1977 Bob Hope hosted a total of 18 Academy Awards ceremonies, and throughout his life it has been said he appeared in or hosted 199 USO shows. |
