ABOUT
A casualty of the Friday night death slot, the celebrated and well loved Norm Show had its life cut short after three seasons. From the creator of The Drew Carey Show, The Norm Show told the story of a hockey player (Norm MacDonald) whose gambling problems and tax evasion lead to his permanent ban from playing hockey. Originally airing in 1999, the show was one of ABC’s top rated shows until the show was moved to Friday nights for its second season, and then cancelled after declining ratings in season three.
The Norm Show was not afraid to turn heads with storylines that involved faking alcoholism to receive a lower workload and a cold open consisting entirely of cast members dressed up and fighting like Pokemon characters. Cameo appearances include Lou Rawls, Jack Warden, and Richard Pryor in his last appearance on screen.
Starring: Norm MacDonald, Laurie Metcalf, Ian Gomez, Artie Lange, Bruce Jarchow, Max Wright, and Faith Ford |
