The Middleman is a television series that was created for the younger audience of ABC Family. The show is based on the Viper Comic series and was created by Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Lost, Charmed, Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit) and Les McClaine. The series ran in 2008 for one season with a total of 12 episodes.
The Middleman depicts the life of a girl, Wendy Watson (Natalie Morales), struggling to work temp jobs. That is, until she comes across one position where she impresses a man known as the Middleman (Matt Keeslar). However, this is not your ordinary nine-to-five job. Wendy finds herself working alongside a super-hero, battling alien evils to save the planet from a secret, sinister organization.
The show references many aspects of pop culture, especially many well-known comic books.
