A spin-off of the popular ‘60s television series, Dragnet, created and produced by Jack Webb, Adam 12 follows the lives of two L.A.P.D. officers as they serve and protect the city of Los Angeles.
After his long-time partner and friend is killed in the line of duty, Patrol Officer Pete Malloy is left bitter, disillusioned, and ready to resign from the force, altogether; until he is teamed up with an eager young rookie, Jim Reed. Feeling responsible for the safety of his new partner, Malloy vows to keep him safe and alive.
Throughout the series’ incredible seven-year run, the pair faces all sorts of mischief on their patrol beat, responding to calls which span the gamut from trivial to tragic.
Endorsed by the actual Los Angeles Police Department, the series featured everything from authentic department badges and vehicles to the genuine police headquarters, patrol stations, and law enforcement procedures. Adam 12 was the first television series to more realistically display the joys and frustrations of being an officer in the late 1960s and early ‘70s and chronicled, with great detail and accuracy, events from real L.A.P.D. cases.
Patrol the streets of L.A. with officers Malloy and Reed as they put their lives on the line in the name of service and protection!
