ABOUT

Not since the late ‘60s/ early ‘70s has there been a musical artist who so completely spoke for an entire generation. After the breakup of the Beatles and the tragic deaths of Hendrix, Morrison and Janis Joplin, there were few music icons left of that magnitude. Led Zeppelin and the Who perhaps, but by the end of the '70s, both John Bonham and Keith Moon were also gone, and all that was left was a musical void that lasted for over a decade…that is until the meteoric success of Nirvana and their breakthrough Nevermind…and subsequently Kurt’s pointless death only three years later. Kurt became the rock icon for the end of the 20th century, and remains so for today’s youth as well.

The legacy of Kurt and the music of Nirvana is reminiscent of the legendary days or Rock ‘n’ Roll towards the close of the ‘60s and into the '70s, and draws obvious comparisons to Hendrix and Morrison, both in terms of the power of the music and the tragic losses as well. Interestingly enough…Kurt Cobain is the most “Googled” rock icon today. His music is still so important to so many people. It’s hard to imagine the musical landscape without the contribution of Kurt Cobain.
