Critically acclaimed TV series Mystery Science Theater 3000:The Return has been renewed for a second season, and will be available as a Netflix Original Series in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland in the “Not-Too-Distant Future.”

In the spring of 2017, eighteen years after its original series run ended, a new season of Mystery Science Theater 3000 debuted on Netflix, thanks to a world-record-setting Kickstarter campaign, spearheaded by series creator Joel Hodgson and Shout! Factory.

Mystery Science Theater 3000’s national broadcast life began in 1989. The show was set on the Satellite of Love, where a human host is trapped by mad scientists with his two robot sidekicks and forced to watch an endless run of B movies. The format proved to be popular, and during its eleven years and 197 episodes on the Comedy Channel and Sci-Fi Channel, it attained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim, including a Peabody Award and nominations for two Emmys®. Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return, Season 1 has a 100% Fresh critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
